Ever since graduating from HSM's East High, fans have been wondering what Zac Efron's future in movies will be like. After passing on the lead in Footloose and sticking to indie flicks last year, news just broke that the hottie will be starring in two new movies!

Action is most definitely in Zac's future with an upcoming spy thriller, the film version of graphic novel Fire. In it, he will play a college student recruited by the CIA and trained to be a special agent. Details are still being worked out on his second flick, but it is said to be a combo of two ideas that will turn out to be a Back to The Future-like movie with director Nick Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

With these new roles and Zac's dramatic flick The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud coming out this year, it seems that the star is trying to play more serious characters -- what kind of movies do you want to see him in?

Cute couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens are two of the latest celebs to reach out in the efforts to help Haiti after the Caribbean country's devastating earthquake.

Zac and Vanessa will be two of the guests taking part in George Lopez's benefit concert, "Help Haiti." The show will take place on February 4 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE.

"The people of Haiti need our help," George wrote on his website. "The best musicians, comedians and athletes will be there for the cause, including my friends Andy Garcia, Slash and Samuel Jackson."

All of the proceeds will go directly to Haiti, the victims, and their families. More information on the concert and how to contribute to the cause even if you live outside of the L.A. area can be found on George's website.

Rob Pattinson is pitching for a good cause. The actor was just tapped to be the London host for this Friday's Hope for Haiti Now telethon. Starting at 8 pm EST and running commercial-free for two hours, the telethon will be airing on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT.

Actor George Clooney organized the event to raise awareness and many of his famous friends are making an appearance on the telethon: Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Bono, Shakira, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Aniston, Jake Gyllenhaal, Brad Pitt, Anna Kendrick, Sandra Bullock, Zac Efron, Bradley Cooper, Renée Zellweger, Chris Pine, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Colin Farrell, Jon Hamm, Emily Blunt, and many more!

Zac's 17 Again hits theaters on April 17

Zac showed he was more than just Troy in the High School Musical movies when he ruled the big screen in 17 Again.

Fun Facts About Zac!
-His secret collection? Zac spilled to J-14 that he collects Pez dispensers! He has over 100 of them -- wow!
-Zac may have cracked us up in 17 Again, but he was working on his comedic skills way back when he was in an improv troop in high school called Destination Imagination. They won the world championship when he was only 15!
-When he was younger, kids used to tease Zac about the gap in his teeth! Aww!

Hey J-14ers!

Interns Katie and Jenna here at the J-14 offices where we just caught a super sneak peek of the new 17 Again DVD that will be in stores on August 11th!

We know that all of you die-hard Zac Efron fans have probably seen it enough times to recite every line, but we're sure that won't stop you from buying the DVD and watching it a million more times. (You can never get enough Zac!)

Besides Zac being a total hottie, there are tons of LOL moments and a cute love story (Who wouldn't fall in love with Zac?!). Plus if you still want more Zac by the time the movie is over then you'll definitely love all of the special features that you can find on the Blu-Ray. There are tons of bloopers from on and off the set and not to mention 13 deleted scenes and a glimpse at what the cast was like when they were 17. There's even a Zac's Dance Flashback, where you can catch Zac busting out some 80s dance moves!

Chace Crawford finally has a new leading lady! Country singer and Dancing With The Stars' alum Julianne Hough reportedly beat out Hayden Panettiere for the chance to star in the remake of Footloose along side the Gossip Girl hottie. Rumors flew that Hairspray's Amanda Bynes and Miley Cyrus were also being considered for the role at one point. But there is one small catch to the exciting news -- Julianne will only be in the movie if her schedule permits.

Chace jumped at the chance to play Ren McCormack (played by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 original) after Zac Efron dropped out of the flick in March. And with HSM's Kenny Ortega directing the flick, Chace is already learning exactly how Zac and Vanessa Hudgens felt after all their dance routines! "I've started prep for [Footloose, and I'm extremely sore... It's really intense," Chace explains. "We're getting the gymnastics and doing some workouts. I'm learning some basic moves. I've got a little rhythm. I'm realizing everyday how much of all the nine months [of prep] I'm going to need."

Last night Twilight swept the MTV Movie Awards winning in five categories: Best Movie, Best Kiss, Best Fight, Best Female Performance (Kristen), Best Breakthrough Male (Rob won and Taylor was nominated). Not only did the stars take home the majority of the awards they were up for, but Kristen, Rob, and Taylor were there to present the trailer for New Moon.

High School Musical: 3 also took home a couple awards, Ashley for Breakthrough Performance Female (over Vanessa who was also nominated), and Zac for Best Male Performance. Miley was up for two awards: Breakthrough Performance Female and Best Song From a Movie. After losing the first to Ashley, she won the second award for "The Climb" from Hannah Montana: The Movie! This Sunday, the MTV Movie Awards will be live (and we'll be blogging as the stars walk down the carpet and accept their awards!) and the category we're buzzing about in the J-14 office is definitely "Best Kiss!"
We're split between Zac and Vanessa (as Troy and Gabriella) in High School Musical 3 and Rob and Kristen (as Edward and Bella, of course!) from Twilight. Who do you guys think have the best kiss?

The BEST "Best Kiss" moment from MTV Movie Awards past is definitely the Rachel McAdams/Ryan Gossling Notebook smooch from 2005 -- we still watch it (video below) and get butterflies! We know the Twilight cast will be there to show a clip of New Moon, do you think if Rob and Kristen win they'll reenact? We hope so!

As J-14 first reported, Zac Efron will no longer be in the remake of Footloose. There were rumors swirling that Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford would be replacing Zac as the lead character, Ren -- and J-14 can confirm that those rumors are true! Chace has officially signed on!

But every hot guy needs a leading lady -- and many of your favorite stars are up for the role of Ariel. Dancing With the Stars' Julianne Hough, Heroes' Hayden Panettiere, Hairspray's Amanda Bynes, and most recently, Miley Cyrus, have reportedly auditioned for the movie, which starts filming in March 2010.

He may have bullied Zac Efron and Sterling Knight in 17 Again, but Hunter Parrish is celebrating his 22nd birthday today!

It's a trio of celeb birthdays today... Rob Pattinson, Debby Ryan, AND Hunter!

Fun Facts:
- He sings too! Hunter starred on Broadway in Spring Awakening in the lead role of Melchior. Every night, fans lined up to meet him after every show.
- You may also know Hunter from his appearances on TV on Summerland and Weeds or in movies in Sleepover and RV (yup, he was part of the crazy Gornicke family that JoJo and Josh Hutcherson couldn't stand!)
- Hunter calls himself a "goody two shoes" who loves to play Wii!

Today is Simple Plan lead singer Pierre Bouvier's birthday! The band's currently working on a follow-up album to last year's self-titled release.

Fun facts:
- Simple Plan sang the theme song in the original pilot for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. (That version never aired on TV.)
- Zac Efron is a longtime Simple Plan fan from back in the day of their hits "Welcome to My Life" and "Shut Up!"

MTV announced the nominations for the 2009 MTV Movie Awards and Twilight has the most nominations including Best Kiss, Best Movie, and Best Breakthrough Performance Male for Rob Pattinson and Taylor Lautner.

Other nominations include Zac Efron in HSM 3 for Best Performance Male, Miley Cyrus in Hannah Montana: The Movie for Best Breakthrough Performance Female, and Slumdog Millionaire for Best Movie. There's also two new categories: Best Song from a Movie and Best WTF Moment.

From now until May 27, you can vote for your faves on MovieAwards.MTV.com. The awards will be hosted by SNL's Andy Samberg on Sunday, May 31 at 9 pm ET/8 pm CT on MTV.

J-14's following your favorite stars on Twitter and we're kicking off a new J-14.com feature to highlight what's going on in the Twitterverse today!

The most popular activity the stars were doing on this sunny Sunday (the weather was beautiful in both LA and NY!)? Watching Zac Efron's movie 17 Again. It's no wonder the movie is #1 at the box office, bringing in an estimated $24 million!

The Suite Life on Deck's Debby Ryan saw it and said it was "sooo funny!" Singer (and Jonas Brothers pal) Tiffany Giardina also saw the movie today and says "17 is my new lucky number :)." And perhaps in the biggest compliment of all, Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomezsaw 17 Again today too -- and it wasn't her first time! "Seeing 17 Again. Again." she Tweeted from her Blackberry.

Other activities the stars were up to today? Some were hard at work: Jordin Sparks had choreography rehearsal, Miranda Cosgrove read to kids with Shia LaBeouf and Jesse McCartney, Taylor Swift kicked off her tour and was on the bus to Indiana, and Mitchel Musso was busy writing music.

Others spent the day relaxing: Joel Madden had an "awesome" brunch with Nicole Richie and baby Harlow, and Wizards of Waverly Place's Jennifer Stone hit up a flea market. And Miley Cyrus was busy traveling in Europe, and squeezed in some sight-seeing in Rome!
