Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez's breakup has put the kibosh on their New Year's Eve plans in Miami. "They were both scheduled to appear together at several bashes," a Miami insider tells Life & Style. "Obviously that's not happening now -- she canceled! She canceled everything; she's not going to Miami at all. Alex is probably still going, and no doubt will be flirting up a storm -- as he usually does."

But A-Rod shouldn't get too out of hand. "He's been somewhat discreet," says an insider close to the former couple. "They broke up more than two weeks ago, but A-Rod didn't want to say anything during Kate's Nine press appearances. He wanted to let her handle it since this is her time."

There was one main topic of conversation when Kate Hudson joined mom Goldie Hawn for a martini at Strada 57 in NYC on Dec. 14: men who cheat. Just hours after news broke online that Kate and her boyfriend of a year, New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, had split, "Kate began talking about the Tiger Woods situation," an onlooker tells Life & Style exclusively.

"She was saying that she knows what it feels like. It sounded like she was talking about how guys have such a sex drive, they just can't help it. It was clear Kate and A-Rod were fighting or had broken up from the way she was speaking about him. At one point, Goldie told Kate, 'Just take the high road. Lead your own way.'"

A friend of Kate's confirms to Life & Style that A-Rod is in fact a free agent -- for now. "They're broken up for the moment," says the friend. "Kate has some trust issues with A-Rod. She doesn't know for sure if there is another woman, but there's a girl she thinks he has a crush on. She's been worrying about other women for a while and is definitely the jealous type."

Kate Hudson is dressing up as a New York Yankees fan for Halloween! The actress won't host her annual star-studded Halloween bash this year so she can cheer on her baseball player boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, when he plays in game three of the World Series, scheduled for Oct. 31.

"Kate looks forward to her Halloween party and always tries to outdo herself," a friend of the star, 30, says. "But it wasn't even a question to do it this year. As much as she would love to invite everyone to her house, Alex is much more important."

Calling off the soiree isn't the only evidence that Kate's romance with A-Rod, 34, has become extremely serious. Kate recently donned a custom-made 18k-gold-and-diamond Jack Vartanian No. 13 pendant -- in honor of A-Rod's jersey number. "She loves being in love and is planning on building a serious life with him," says the friend. "He's a priority. Something like the Halloween party isn't."

So for now, Kate's making it clear that her red-hot romance comes first. "All she does is talk about Alex," the friend says. "She even plans her movie schedule around him. She's madly in love."

In case there was any doubt, Kate Hudson is making it clear that she and Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez are officially an item, Life & Style has learned.

On July 19, the couple dined with friends at seafood haven Lure in New York City, and Kate revealed to the table that Madonna's ex is now her boyfriend.

"Kate kept saying things like 'my boyfriend this, my boyfriend that' when referring to Alex," an insider tells Life & Style.

The couple have been dating for about two months. In June, Kate was seen at a New York Yankees home game rooting for Alex, and earlier this month, the duo were spotted dining together in New York. Soon after, they spent time with Kate's 5-year-old son, Ryder, at The Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, Calif.

"They were really cute and cuddly together," adds the insider. "You can tell Kate really likes him. They were whispering to one another, just acting like lovers!"

Britney Spears had good reason to be nervous about appearing in Madonna's Sticky & Sweet concert at LA's Dodger Stadium last night. After all, the other special guest star was none other than her ex Justin Timberlake.

But Brit didn't let Justin's presence faze her. "She arrived at the stadium on time, with her hair and makeup done," a Spears family insider tells Life & Style. "She even chose her outfit herself."

Brit's big moment came during "Human Nature," Madonna's third song of the night. The crowd went wild as Britney strutted onstage. "It was like Caesar returning to Rome," Madonna fan Joseph Toth tells Life & Style. "The light was back in Britney's eyes."

Brit and Justin did run into each other -- but only at rehearsals. "They passed each other behind the stage," the insider says. "Justin said hello, and Brit said hello back. It was small talk, nothing more. For the show, they were in well-separated backstage areas, and Britney left shortly after her performance."

When Madonna's Sticky & Sweet tour touches down in LA's Dodger Stadium tonight, the Material Girl's new man, Alex Rodriguez, will be right there where she can see him. "Everyone is expecting him," an insider tells Life & Style. "He's been in LA a week; she just got there. It's a big night. He's supposed to be there."
Another insider is even more sure of it. "A-Rod," the second insider tells Life & Style, "will be seated in the third row tonight."

Now that Madonna and Guy Ritchie's split has been announced, it's full steam ahead for Madge and New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez. Life & Style has learned that the two are planning a long weekend together in Miami Beach in late November, when Madonna's due in town toward the end of her U.S. tour. An insider confirms, "Madonna's team has already begun scouting homes for rent in the Coral Gables area. Madonna and Alex are definitely aiming to get together before Christmas."
