Anne Heche and James Tupper have been building a life together ever since falling for each other in 2006 on the set of the TV series Men in Trees, but don't expect to hear wedding bells any time soon. "We are eternally engaged," James, who now stars on the NBC medical drama Mercy, tells Life & Style. "That means I have to give her a new ring every year. I'm not saying we'll never [officially] get engaged, but she likes getting a ring every year."

The couple are raising two kids: Homer, Anne's 7-year-old from her first marriage, and their son, Atlas, whom they welcomed in March. Is another on the way? "I'd love to have a girl," says James. "I'm trying to talk Anne into it, but like every actress, she says, 'I don't want to get fat again. I have a career!'"

Stars with babies — and stars with babies on the way — showed up en masse Saturday for the Boom Boom Room's Children¹s Gifting Wonderland at The Century Plaza hotel in Century City, Calif. The draw: a gifting suite stocked by 83 vendors of everything baby-related, including organic baby food, strollers, maternity clothing and breast-feeding gear.

Among the attendees: Anne Heche and her squeeze, James Tupper, who announced in December that they're expecting.

And an insider tells Life & Style that Anne, who has a 6-year-old son with ex-husband Coleman Laffoon, was overheard whispering some news to a vendor: She's having a boy!
