Jen and Jess: Bizarre love triangle!

JEN-JESS945.jpgWith a dining room open only to members and their guests, NYC's Soho House is the perfect place for a low-key private date. But when singer Jessica Simpson and actor Gerard Butler met there for dinner on Oct. 20, they didn't care who saw them flirting up a storm.

"He was trying really hard to make her laugh," says an eyewitness. "And she was laughing at everything he was saying. The two of them were really hitting it off. There definitely seemed to be chemistry between them. He was making her blush and crack up."

For her part, Jess was thrilled by all the attention. After all, she was clearly attracted to Gerard, 39. But she could also have been motivated by a desire for revenge. In early September, two months after she had split with Tony, reports emerged that Jess and former flame John Mayer had reunited. But then John rekindled his romance with Jennifer Aniston, leaving Jess alone again.

Jennifer Aniston: I want a baby now

Aniston940.jpgFor years, Jennifer Aniston has spoken openly of her longing to be a mom. When reports emerged that the reason for her divorce from Brad Pitt was that she wasn't ready to start a family, she angrily insisted it wasn't true. And after playing a mother in 2008's Marley & Me, she said she couldn't wait for the real thing. "I feel like that's in my future and I'm on the verge of it in some way," she said.

But now she's gone further than ever before. On Access Hollywood on Sept. 15, Billy Bush brought up Jen's next movie, 2010's The Baster, in which the star plays a woman who opts for artificial insemination to have a baby. Asked whether that's in the cards for her, Jen didn't hold back: "I'm ready for anything -- bring it on!" she responded.

In Life & Style Now: How Jennifer Aniston got her perfect figure!

936cover.jpgJennifer Aniston took a break from filming The Bounty on Aug. 22 to enjoy a meal with co-star Gerard Butler and some pals at Freemans eatery on NYC's Lower East Side. Instead of nibbling on a salad, "she shared her dessert with her table and drank with her friends," an onlooker tells Life & Style. "She's tiny, but she looks strong and healthy. Her arms were amazing, she was in great shape and she looked comfortable in her own skin."

It's no wonder Jen seems so confident and flirtatious -- her toned curves, tight abs and perky assets are looking better than ever. "I feel more comfortable today than I ever did in my 20s or early 30s," Jen, who turned the big 4-0 in February, recently said. Part of that newfound serenity comes from incorporating fitness and food into her life -- instead of making them the enemy.

"Whenever she wants to look her best, Jen does this strict diet so she's able to lose 5 pounds in five days," an insider on the set of The Baster (a comedy Jen filmed with Jason Bateman before The Bounty) tells Life & Style."She did it during her past few films and doesn't find it hard at all. I saw her eat pasta only once!" But the yoga devotee -- who flew her instructor, Mandy Ingber, from LA to her NYC set -- always eats enough to keep up her energy. "She routinely gets up at 5 in the morning to run before filming starts," says the insider, who was on set with Jen as she filmed The Bounty at Monmouth Park race track in Oceanport, N.J., on Aug. 17. "We were filming from 6 a.m. until almost 11 at night, and she had a great energy level the whole time. She was upbeat and smiley and never flubbed a line -- and her body looks amazing!"

Jen gets the green light for her Goree movie musical

Aniston932.jpgJennifer Aniston's plan to bring a musical to the silver screen as a producer will finally become a reality.

Life & Style can report that Jen and her producing partners have secured the financing for her upcoming film project, Goree Girls, a women's prison musical set in the 1940s.

"Jennifer has finally signed on the dotted line to make Goree Girls her next movie as both star and producer," an insider tells Life & Style. "She is gearing up to shoot this during the first eight weeks of 2010."

Goree Girls is based on a true story about female inmates in a Texas prison who form the first ever all-women country act. They become popular and eventually are granted pardons.

Jen goes public with Brad

Aniston927.jpgThe cozy Italian restaurant Il Cantinori is the setting for many a romantic NYC evening, and June 18 was no exception. But seated among the canoodling couples was one surprising duo: Jennifer Aniston and The Hangover star Bradley Cooper. "We put them at a secluded table in the back," one Il Cantinori staffer tells Life & Style.

The pair arrived around 10 p.m. and left two hours later. "They were very flirty and into each other -- it was definitely a date," says an eyewitness. "Jen looked really happy. When they left, they went back to the same hotel together!"

Jen's hot date with Bradley Cooper!

Bradley&Jen926.jpgJennifer Aniston shared a dinner with Bradley Cooper in a romantic New York restaurant on Thursday, Life & Style has learned.

Jen and Bradley, who starred together in He's Just Not That Into You, were spotted leaving Il Cantinori last night.

The actress spent two hours with Bradley in the Italian restaurant - despite being in New York to film with hunk Gerard Butler, with whom she has been rumored to be romantically linked.

In Life & Style now: Jen betrayed by her best friend

lifeandstylemag_cover.jpg

When Brad Pitt split up with Jennifer Aniston and started dating his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie in early 2005, no one was more loyal to Jen than Courteney Cox. She comforted her pal as any best friend would and shunned the man who broke Jen's heart. Even Courteney's husband, actor David Arquette, took Jen's side and bad-mouthed Brad, telling Howard Stern in a radio interview that Brad "did some stuff that hurt our friend." David also implied that Brad and Jen would never have divorced had it not been for Brad's romance with Angelina.

But Courteney and David's attitude toward Jen's ex seems to have softened recently. On May 3, the couple got chummy with Brad at the dinner party of a mutual friend before meeting up backstage at a Chris Cornell concert at LA's Wiltern theater, where the group reportedly spent time laughing about the old days. Plus, Courteney and David reportedly approached Brad and Angelina at the 2007 Golden Globe Awards (Jen was not in attendance), giving him a warm greeting -- and even saying hello to Angie! Jen, according to reports, was furious about it.

But the friendship may still be able to bounce back. Jen's in NYC filming the comedy The Baster, but when she gets back, "she and Courteney can make up for lost time and repair the damage," says an insider. "If they can't do that before Jen has to leave town again for her next project, things won't get better. They'll get much, much worse."

Brad & Jen get close again

Jen&Brad920.jpgJennifer Aniston's been pretty much on her own since she started filming the comedy The Baster in NYC in late March. As Life & Style has reported, she hasn't been hitting restaurants or clubs, instead spending evenings ordering room service and staying in her suite at the Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca. "She misses her house in Beverly Hills and her friends," says an insider close to her.

But on April 27, she nearly had some surprising company: The onetime love of her life, ex-husband Brad Pitt, was just blocks away! While Angelina Jolie was on the Brooklyn set of her upcoming thriller, Salt, Brad visited downtown Manhattan's Standard Hotel. He arrived via SUV around 12:30 p.m. to be photographed by Steven Klein for W magazine. "He was scruffy and messy-looking," says an eyewitness.

Jen and Angelina: alone in New York

jolie&jen918.jpgWhen Life & Style caught up with Jennifer Aniston in NYC on April 14, the actress hardly looked like someone who was enjoying her stay in the city. Asked how she was doing, a grim-faced Jen simply responded, "I'm hanging in there."

Jen, 40, has always loved NYC, soaking up the shopping and dining at the trendiest spots whenever she's in town. But during this stay, which began in late March, she's kept a remarkably low profile. When she's not on set filming her new romantic comedy, The Baster, she's been holed up in her room at the Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca, ordering room service for most meals.

Why the sudden shut-in behavior? Jen's nemesis, Angelina Jolie, is also shooting a movie -- the spy thriller Salt -- in and around NYC, and an insider close to Jen believes she's being extremely careful to avoid bumping into Angie. "Instead of going out to restaurants where she might run into Angelina, Jennifer is entertaining guests in her hotel suite," the insider says.

Jen: I don't want to get old

Aniston.jpg

After a long day of filming on the NYC set of her new movie, The Baster, on March 22, Jennifer Aniston ducked into the Tribeca Grill for dinner. "She was so sweet," says an onlooker. "She was in a good mood." But was Jen, who turned 40 on Feb. 11, just putting on a brave face? "She hasn't been the easiest on set," an insider working on The Baster tells Life & Style. "She's being controlling and snapping quite a lot. It's pretty out of character for her."

Jen's beef? She's having a problem with the fact that her character, who's trying to get pregnant, ages from 40 to 48 when the movie jumps ahead in time. "She keeps saying it's not believable because she looks much younger," says the insider. "She asked the makeup artist what high-tech effects they're going to use to age her, and she was disappointed to learn there aren't any."

Shame on you, John!

Jen&John915.jpg

John Mayer has never kept his feelings to himself. Since splitting up with Jennifer Aniston soon after their Feb. 22 appearance at the Oscars, he's poured his heart out via his Twitter account. But now he's gone a step further. In his new song, "Heartbreak Warfare," which he debuted to thrilled fans aboard his four-night Mayercraft Carrier 2 cruise to Mexico, he appears to rail against her.

"If you want more love, why don't you say so?" he sings. "How come the only way you know how hard to hit me is to see how far I fall?"

In Life & Style now: Jen: I'll be a single mom!

914Cover.jpg

Newly single Jennifer Aniston is on a mission, and it has nothing to do with winning back ex-boyfriend John Mayer. Instead, she's focused on an entirely different goal - motherhood - and she's going for it with or without a man by her side. "In a perfect world, she'd get pregnant naturally," an insider notes. But if Mr. Right doesn't show up, she's willing to adopt or try in vitro fertilization using donated sperm. "She's working out how she wants to proceed," the insider tells Life & Style. "But one thing is definite: She wants a baby, and she wants one soon."

Her recent breakup with John -- the couple's third in a year -- served as the wake-up call Jen needed to finally make becoming a mom her priority, an insider close to Jen tells Life & Style. "Yes, she was hoping to have a baby with him," the insider explains. "But I think deep down she knew he probably wasn't ready to settle down and start a family." Instead of waiting around for John to mature, Jen -- who just turned 40 in February -- has decided to go ahead and have a baby on her own. "She knows the one luxury she doesn't have right now is time," says the insider. As a result, Jen's come to a life-changing decision. "She's willing," says the insider, "to become a single mother."

How Brad caused the split

JohnJen913.jpg

Jennifer Aniston had John Mayer to lean on when she finally came face-to-face with her rival, Angelina Jolie, at the Academy Awards on Feb. 22. Little did Jen know, though, that would be their last big date. The couple, who hooked up in April 2008 and have split twice before, have called it quits again.

But there's an upside to this latest breakup for Jen. "She and John are the new Jen and Brad," says the couple's pal. "Instead of everyone always talking about Jen and Brad, Jen is hoping her split with John will be the sore subject people focus on! It's a much easier 'heartbreak' for Jen to deal with."

In Life & Style now: Finally, baby time for Jen!

cover911.jpg

Jennifer Aniston has never been shy about her desire to become a mom. "I really love children," the star, who turned 40 on Feb. 11, recently said. "Of course I'd like to be a mother someday."

Someday could turn out to be very soon. Jen, who's happily with her on-again beau of nearly a year, John Mayer, 31, seems serious about getting her body into baby-bearing mode. In order to do that, Life & Style has learned, she's been frequently visiting Dr. Mary C. Kerr, the ob-gyn to the stars, who's based in Beverly Hills. "She's been seeing Dr. Kerr," confirms an insider. "She's seen her in the past, when she and Brad Pitt were together and there was talk of them trying to have a baby."

In fact, Dr. Kerr and her hubby, Wyck Godfrey (Twilight producer and the producer of Jen's upcoming movie Management), attended Jen's Feb. 7 birthday party -- where Jen seemed to follow the doc's advice of kicking back and relaxing. "I think Jen got the same advice that most Hollywood women on the skinny side get," says the insider. "Beef up, relax and give it your best."'

Oscar drama! Why Jen avoided Angelina

Jen&Ange910.jpg

The most anticipated category on Oscar night is usually best picture. But audience members all sat up a little straighter in their seats this year when it came time for the announcement of best animated feature. That's because Jennifer Aniston walked onstage to present -- and stood just 12 feet away from her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, and her rival, Angelina Jolie, who were sitting in the front row. "Everyone was craning their necks to see how Brad and Angie watched Jen," says a witness.

Though Jen, 40, seemed a bit uncomfortable, she read the list of nominees without letting her nerves get the best of her. "Jen looked very nervous backstage beforehand," says the witness.

Nevertheless, Jen bit the bullet, and for the first time since her marriage to Brad broke up in 2005, she came face-to-face with his partner, Angelina. But that's as close as the two got over the course of the night.

Jen might meet Brangelina at the Oscars!

Jen&Brangelina909.jpg

There's always plenty of drama at the Academy Awards, but this year's ceremony could set a new standard: Jennifer Aniston may finally meet up with her ex-hubby, Brad Pitt, and her nemesis, Brad's partner, Angelina Jolie!

Both Angelina and Brad are Oscar nominees (she's up for best actress for Changeling, he's a best-actor contender for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button), so the couple are expected to attend the Feb. 22 event. But the big news is that Jen's planning to be there as well. "She's going to be a presenter," an insider tells Life & Style. In fact, she's considering presenting the award for Best Animated Feature -- a category that includes another Angie movie, Kung Fu Panda!

Even more shocking? It's not the first time Jen has reached out to Brad and Angie: She invited them to her 40th-birthday party at her LA home on Feb. 7, but they were traveling and couldn't make it.

Now Jen's thinking of making a public peace offering. "She says her goal for Oscar night is to be photographed hugging Brad and shaking Angelina's hand," says the insider."

Why Jen taped Brad's phone calls

Brad&Jen908.jpg

Sure, Jennifer Aniston has started a new decade of her life, but she hasn't completely moved on: She's kept voice messages from her ex-husband, Brad Pitt, she confesses in the March issue of Marie Claire magazine. "I still have the cassette tapes of messages from my first boyfriend, my second boyfriend, my husband," says Jen, whose divorce from Brad became final in 2005. "It's like saving love letters."

Jen's life at 40

Aniston907.jpg

The fact that she's turning the big 4-0 doesn't bother Jennifer Aniston, who will usher in a brand-new decade on Feb. 11. "It doesn't really faze me, to be honest," she told the British magazine Now. "What does it mean to turn 40?"

For Jen it means having a movie career on the rise, a newly renovated home to call her own, a stable of close friends and a new self-assured attitude that shows she's finally moved on from her ex-husband, Brad Pitt. "I don't think there's anything wrong with living by your own rules," said Jen -- who's proving it with her unapologetic on-again, off-again romance with nine-years-younger beau John Mayer.

Jen and John take another break

Jen&John905.jpg

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer's on-again, off-again romance is off again. The two have been stepping out separately in LA in recent weeks.

On Jan. 9, Jen joined pal Courteney Cox at their favorite Tex-Mex restaurant, Marix, in West Hollywood. "It's weird," said a Marix staffer. "She never brings John here."

Brad defends Angelina

Brangelina904.jpg

Over the past few years,
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have cultivated an image as loving parents. In fact, during a Jan. 10 photo shoot at LA's Smashbox Studios, Brad spoke exclusively to Life & Style about his 6-month-old twins, Vivienne and Knox. "They're doing just great," he said. "They're getting bigger every day. We're just amazed by how quickly they're growing!"

But Angelina's recent admission that she and Brad fell in love while he was still married to Jennifer Aniston seemed to remind people that Angie may have split up America's onetime golden couple. The implication upset Brad, who's now leaped to Angie's defense.

In an interview in February's W magazine, Brad, 45, clearly attempts to backtrack, claiming that he filmed Mr. & Mrs. Smith with Angie, 33, for a whole year, which meant the cameras were still rolling after he and Jen called it quits.
