Jessica Simpson and her ex Billy Corgan are mixing business with pleasure -- Billy's recording the theme song for Jessica's new reality show, The Price of Beauty. "Billy plays guitar, and Jessica's written and performed the lyrics," a VH1 insider confirms to Life & Style exclusively. "It's cute that they came up with the idea together."

On Jan. 11, Jess, 29, and the Smashing Pumpkins front man, 42, went into an LA recording studio, where Billy was working on the Pumpkins' new project. "I am blessed," Jessica tweeted after the jam session. Viewers can listen for themselves when the series, which examines perceptions of attractiveness across cultures, premieres on March 15 at 10 p.m. on VH1.

Joined by her best pals, CaCee Cobb and Ken Paves, Jess travels the globe uncovering the extremes regular women go to in the name of beauty -- from being force-fed milk in Uganda to donning head-to-toe geisha garb in Japan. Life & Style was front and center on Jan. 15 at The Price of Beauty's Television Critics Association news conference in LA, where Jessica opened up about her life-changing experiences. "There's lots of laughter. There's a lot of tears," says Jess. "It was a very powerful journey."

What are your thoughts on beauty?
Beauty is a very easy thing to become obsessed with in our society.

Has the show changed how you view yourself?

Going around the world and seeing all of these incredibly courageous women really inspired all of us to find the best within ourselves. Now I walk around with so much
more pride in who I am as a woman, as a person. We all just discovered so much about what life really, really is and what beauty actually means.

With a dining room open only to members and their guests, NYC's Soho House is the perfect place for a low-key private date. But when singer Jessica Simpson and actor Gerard Butler met there for dinner on Oct. 20, they didn't care who saw them flirting up a storm.

"He was trying really hard to make her laugh," says an eyewitness. "And she was laughing at everything he was saying. The two of them were really hitting it off. There definitely seemed to be chemistry between them. He was making her blush and crack up."

For her part, Jess was thrilled by all the attention. After all, she was clearly attracted to Gerard, 39. But she could also have been motivated by a desire for revenge. In early September, two months after she had split with Tony, reports emerged that Jess and former flame John Mayer had reunited. But then John rekindled his romance with Jennifer Aniston, leaving Jess alone again.

Tony Romo shattered Jessica Simpson's world when he picked the day before Jess' 29th-birthday party in July to dump her. But that wasn't the last crushing blow he would deal her: Now the Dallas Cowboys quarterback has started dating Candice Crawford, a 22-year-old former beauty queen who's the sister of Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford. The new woman also happens to be a dead ringer for Jessica -- except that Candice is younger and, notes a friend of Jessica's, skinnier.

"Does it add insult to injury that this girl is younger and slimmer? Sure," says the friend. "Jess is just unlucky in love. That's her downfall."

Fortunately, lonely Jessica has a lot to distract herself with lately. She's currently overseas filming her new VH1 reality show, The Price of Beauty, so Tony's new relationship isn't in her face. "She's buried herself in work and trying not to focus on the breakup with Tony," says the pal. "But the fact that this woman looks a lot like Jessica would bother anyone."

There is still no love lost between Buffalo Bills football player Terrell Owens and pop singer Jessica Simpson.

Asked by Life & Style last night at the VH1 premiere party for his new show the T.O. Show about Jessica's recent breakup with Terrell's former Dallas Cowboys teammate Tony Romo, the 35-year-old star wide receiver says, "It's not my problem."

Terrell was critical of Jessica for being a distraction to Tony on the football field. She was at one of Tony's home games during the Cowboys' bad loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in December 2007.

"Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite -- in this locker room or in Texas Stadium [the Cowboys' home field]," Terrell told The Associated Press at the time. He soon apologized after making those comments.

When asked whether Tony's breakup will help his playing career, Terrell tells Life & Style, "You know, I'm not really sure."

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo wasted no time having fun as a single man since his recent split from with Jessica Simpson.

In the days leading up to Jessica Simpson's 29th birthday, the singer excitedly Twittered back and forth with two friends, actress Emmy Rossum and stylist Nicole Chavez, about how they would dress for her July 10 Barbie-themed bash. Then
Jess wrote that the much-anticipated shindig never took place. Why?

Because there was no longer a Ken to Jess' Barbie. Her longtime beau Tony Romo, 29, broke up with her just one day before her party, according to a friend. "He was acting like a single guy before he ever made it official," says the friend. "She's pretty sad."

Tony Romo last night continued celebrating his breakup with Jessica Simpson by rocking out to the sounds of glam metal cover band Steel Panther. Tony and some pals, including rocker Ryan Cabrera and Dennis Haskins of Saved By the Bell, checked out the band at LA's Key Club.

"He looked like he hadn't a care in the world," an eyewitness tells Life & Style, adding that Tony and his pals partied the night away in a VIP booth.

In better days, Jessica and Tony used to show up together at the regular Monday-night gig by the band -- formerly known as Metal Skool.

"Tony was having a blast," says the eyewitness. "He was laughing and high-five-ing his friends all night. He and Ryan were inseparable. They were hugging each other and giggling while they checked out all the hot chicks dancing onstage.

"One girl in a little black dress was getting really crazy. She was treating her time onstage like an audition at a strip club. It totally caught the boys' eyes and they started throwing ice at her and motioning for the bouncer to call her over. The pretty girl found her way over and started talking to Tony. He invited her up to the booth but refused to pose for a photo with her. She got a little discouraged and started to walk away. But moments later Tony whispered in his friend's ear and sure enough the friend followed the pouting beauty. Soon enough she was smiling again and back at the VIP table."

At one point during the party, Ryan, who was drinking Grey Goose straight from the bottle, and Dennis jumped onstage with the band and tried to bring Tony with them. But Tony hid at first, causing his pals and the band to taunt him from the stage until he relented.

"As soon as Tony stood up and showed his face they tossed him the mic. He got into it and sang a few bars of a Guns 'N Roses song. It was awesome!"

Life & Style can confirm that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have split after dating for almost two years. The breakup came the night before Jessica's 29th birthday, last Friday.

"She's pretty bummed and sad," a friend of Jessica's tells Life & Style. "They weren't good anymore [and] fighting. He's away a lot, she's getting ready to work on a new project. It became obvious they just weren't meant to be."

Meanwhile Tony, the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, has been hanging around in LA, according to the friend. "I think he was acting like a single guy before he ever made it official."

The friend adds that Jess and Tony were at a golf event together in Maryland on July 1. "It wasn't an act, but they were having their problems. They were kind of off and on at that point."

But Jessica's still putting a good face on things. "Everyone needs to know that hope floats," she Twittered after the breakup. "Grab the strings and pull it back to you." A few hours later she wrote: "Please, Lord, give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace."

Coincidentally Jessica's ex-husband, Nick Lachey, is newly single also after he and girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo announced their split less than three weeks ago. "Jessica hasn't spoken to Nick," her friend says. "They don't talk."

It seems Nick Lachey's breakup from longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo caught everyone by surprise, even their friends! "I didn't know about it!" Kim Kardashian told Life & Style at the Axe Instinct and Rolling Stone The Power of Leather party in New York on June 24. "I didn't know that, but I wish them the best."

But, Kim, who dated Nick in 2006 after his split from Jessica Simpson, had kind words for both Nick and Vanessa. "They're so nice. Individually and together, they're both so sweet, so whatever makes them happy, you know?"

Does Jessica Simpson care that some mean people have been saying mean things about her new curvier self? No, judging from the way the star reacted last night at the University of Virginia's John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va., where she opened for country band Rascal Flatts.

Although Jessica, flaunting her figure in skintight black leather pants, didn't address the public chatter directly, she did drop a strong hint about what she thinks about the whole mini-controversy.

"Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder," she told her audience. "So just appreciate. I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless."

Like a certain blond singer's measurements, perhaps?

Who tries to board a plane with a hand grenade — even a nonfuctioning grenade — in their carry-on luggage?

Jackass star Johnny Knoxville, that's who. Johnny, 38, was going through passenger screening at Los Angeles International Airport yesterday when the Transportation Security Administration officer who was inspecting Johnny's bag spotted the image of the grenade.

After the bomb squad arrived and determined that the grenade was harmless — it had no firing pin and no explosives — Johnny was allowed to board his flight to Miami.

And why was Jessica Simpson's ex carrying a grenade? It was a prop for a photo shoot, Johnny told officers, and he had just forgotten he had it.

Last night, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and hubby Pete welcomed their first baby, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

And today, Ashlee's sister, Jessica Simpson, can barely contain herself. "Bronx is beyond precious," Jessica says. "I'm over the moon with joy. Life is a beautiful miracle. Ashlee and Pete are healthy, happy and enjoying every moment."

The saga of Carrie Underwood and Jessica Simpson is the stuff country songs are made of. As Jessica, a newly minted Nashville star, publicly gushes about boyfriend Tony Romo, Tony's ex -- perhaps still bitter about their breakup -- is striking back by reportedly saying Jess has been looking "fatter" in photos.

What's Jess' response?

"I love and appreciate everything the good Lord has given me!" she tells Life & Style about her curves.

As for Carrie, 25, she won't publicly admit to a rivalry -- in romance or on the music charts. "I think anything that brings more recognition to the country music scene is great," she tells Life & Style of Jessica's new country career. "I'm all for it."

But a friend of the American Idol winner confirms that Carrie's been sniping at Jessica. "She agrees that Jess is attractive," says the friend, "but says she wouldn't want to be as 'buxom and top-heavy.'"
