Jon: worst dad in America

Jon943.jpgIt's gotten to the point where Jon Gosselin doesn't even notice when his daughter's name is misspelled on a birthday cake. On Oct. 8, the day his twin girls, Mady and Cara, turned 9, Jon went to the Cupcake Café in NYC to pick up a cake for them. Mady's name was spelled incorrectly on it -- with two d's instead of one -- but Jon was apparently too busy posing with the cake for the cameras that had followed him into the store to realize it. "He had that cake in his arms for at least four to five minutes," store owner Ann Warren tells Life & Style. "He didn't notice that the name was misspelled."

Not that Jon is totally at fault. After all, while most fathers would order their children's birthday cake themselves, someone from a TV show placed this order, according
to multiple reports.

"There were at least 10 people involved in picking up this cake," Warren
says. Before Jon's arrival, "they checked with me to see if it was okay to film it." One of the people involved with filming told the Cupcake Café how to spell the girls' names.

"It's not that we don't make mistakes," Warren explains. "But in this case, it was the person who ordered it who gave us the spelling." Still, the fact that Jon didn't catch the incorrect spelling is stunning. "It's sad," says Warren. "My father would have remembered my name. Then again, "I'm only one of four children."

How Jon and Kate lost $3 million

942JONKATE.jpgJon Gosselin has a strange way of saying he's sorry. Less than 24 hours after publicly apologizing to his estranged wife, Kate, for his immature behavior since the couple's June split, he took his most shocking and vicious swipe at her yet -- by allegedly draining the couple's joint bank account.
The move capped off what had already been a scandalous week in the drama-filled divorce proceedings of Jon and Kate. On Sept. 29, TLC, the network that produces Jon & Kate Plus 8, essentially fired Jon, announcing that the series would be renamed Kate Plus 8, with Jon assuming a much smaller role. Two days later, Jon sent the network a cease and desist letter, prohibiting it from filming the estranged couple's eight kids.
Appearing on Larry King Live that same day, Jon claimed he was motivated by peace -- not profit. "I don't want them to film anymore. I don't think it's healthy for them," he said. He added that off-camera time would also give him and Kate time to repair their relationship. "I want [us] to mediate," he explained. "I want us to become friends."

Jon Gosselin replaced — by a vampire-series star!

Jon937.jpgJon Gosselin had to pull the plug on his Harrah's Resort appearance in Atlantic City, N.J., this Sunday, but Life & Style can exclusively report that he's being replaced by super-hot Ryan Kwanten, who plays Jason Stackhouse on HBO's vampire show True Blood.

"TLC forced Jon to cancel," an insider tells Life & Style, referring to the channel that airs Jon & Kate Plus 8. But he's not alone. "Kate Gosselin was scheduled to appear at the Resorts casino in Atlantic City on Sept. 4. However, TLC forced her to cancel the appearance," adds a second insider."

Jon's VIP club treatment

Jon-Gosselin.jpgSparks were flying as Jon Gosselin chatted with a clubgoer -- pictured here -- who was just one of the many women he partied with at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn., on Aug. 18. With his girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, nowhere in sight, Jon made sure there was a steady flow of women and booze at his VIP table. An eyewitness tells Life & Style, "Jon went to Scorpion Bar and Shrine, where he ordered bottles of Grey Goose. He only allowed girls over to his table the whole night, and there were a lot of them."

Jon took a break from his typical jeans-and-T-shirt look, opting for a black sports jacket, button-down shirt and slicked-back hair. He gladly signed autographs but refused to pose for pictures. The witness overheard him saying he was there with Hailey's uncle and a bodyguard. "It's a very sexy, dark kind of nightclub after 11 o'clock. It's Asian-themed, so there's a lot red and couches everywhere. He had a blast," says the eyewitness. Jon stayed until 1 a.m., when the club closed.

In Life & Style now: JON GOSSELIN'S EX KATE MAJOR TELLS ALL -- SEX, LIES AND SEDUCTION!!

935cover.jpgIn a EXCLUSIVE tell-all interview, Jon Gosselin's ex Kate Major uncovers the reality star's lies and shady seduction secrets:

"He totally screwed me over and acted like a dirtbag." - Kate Major to Life & Style.

Jon Gosselin was excited to start a new chapter in his life following the June 22 announcement that he'd separated from his wife of 10 years, Kate Gosselin. And life has changed in one major way since then: He's become a notorious ladies' man. In an exclusive tell-all interview, former lover, Kate Major, opened up to Life & Style about her brief affair with the father of twins and sextuplets. "He was a great kisser," she says. "It was amazing. I said, 'I've never felt like this about anybody else in my life,' and he said, 'Me too.'"

Sparks first flew when the reporter was sent to Wernersville, Pa., on July 17 to cover the breakdown of Jon's marriage. That was followed by whirlwind trips to New Jersey, NYC and New York's Hamptons that included three sexual encounters. But by July 29, playboy Jon had brought the budding relationship to a screeching halt, denied it ever happened and gone back to Hailey. Kate explains to Life & Style how Jon managed to seduce her -- and why she no longer sees him as a catch. "I'm deeply upset by the turn of events," she says. "He totally screwed me over and acted like a dirtbag."

ON INVITING HER OVER -- WHILE THE KIDS WERE ASLEEP:

"Jon said he couldn't be seen having a girlfriend, so he told me to drive to a neighbor's house after midnight, when the kids were asleep. He said he'd pick me up on his four-wheeler, take me to his house and drop me off again at 6 a.m. I was shocked and said, 'No, I don't feel right doing that. What if the kids wake up?' He was like, 'They're not going to notice, they're not going to see anything.' He wasn't nervous about it --I was. Looking back, it was all pretty much sexual. That's what he had in mind."

ON JON BREAKING UP WITH HER OVER TEXT MESSAGE:

"Jon told me he needed to go to Massachusetts to meet Hailey and break up with her. Right when he left on July 23, he shut his phone off -- and also shut himself off. Once he finally called me, I didn't know the new person. He sounded upset and said he needed to be single right now. Then he sent me a message saying, 'Do not contact me again.'"

ON THE FIRST TIME THEY SLEPT TOGETHER:

"Jon never wanted to use his credit card -- he was worried that he'd get caught or spotted. On July 20, we went to a hotel in New Jersey. I paid for the room, and he snuck up a back way. That was the first time we slept together. He said he was falling in love with me. He said, 'I thought Hailey was perfect until I met you.'"

ON JON'S LIES:

"Looking back on it now, he was stringing me along. Even when we were in the Hamptons, we were planning to go to LA together to meet with Christian Audigier about Ed Hardy stuff. We also talked about going to Las Vegas. Now he's taking Hailey -- and that was a trip we had planned together."

Kate Gosselin: I'm so lonely

Kate933.jpgTo most of the world, Kate Gosselin is the levelheaded, tough mom of eight seen on TV. But the few people allowed into her inner circle know Kate has a different side -- a softer, more vulnerable side. Now for the first time, Kate's closest friend, Jamie Ayers, is speaking out about Kate's split from hubby Jon -- and defending her pal against unfair media portrayals, some of which have branded the single mom a "monster."

Jamie tells Life & Style about her recent visit with Kate: "It was good for her -- she's lonely now that Jon's gone." But with eight children to care for, there's no time for Kate to sit around feeling sorry for herself. Instead, she's busier than ever these days, trying to fill the void Jon's absence has left in the children's lives. "Kate's trying to do more than be just a mom," says Jamie, "the kind of stuff Jon would've done. She wants to be well-rounded for the kids."

Matchmaker: Jon Gosselin could use my help

JonG932.jpgThese days, newly single Jon Gosselin doesn't seem to have a problem meeting eligible ladies. But there is at least one person who thinks he still needs some help in that department.

Matchmaker and author Janis Spindel tells Life & Style she recently met Jon at the Samuel Waxman benefit in Southampton, N.Y., and was convinced she could help him. "Here's a guy with a diamond earring who thinks he's God's gift to...I don't know what," she says.

Janis says that Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael, introduced her to Jon at the party and that she gave the Jon & Kate Plus 8 star her business card. "I basically was very clear about who I was and what I do -- I'm America's top matchmaker," says Janis. To say the least [Jon and Michael], both could use my services."

The matchmaker thinks that Jon and Michael are smart enough people to know that they'll need to outsource an experienced professional. "My net is a lot wider than theirs," says Janis. "Look at their track records."

Jon's plan to take Kate's money

jon-gosselin-932.jpgFor a man with eight mouths to feed, Jon Gosselin certainly has been living large lately. In fact, fatherhood seemed to be the last thing on his mind on July 24. That night, Jon was partying it up at the Pink Elephant nightclub in Southampton, N.Y.

The next day, instead of driving to Wernersville, Pa., to see his kids, Jon stayed in the Hamptons, where he hobnobbed with new pal Michael Lohan (father of Lindsay) and downed Stoli vodka cocktails at the Mercedes-Benz polo match. "I was standing near him and overheard him asking a group of girls if they liked his outfit," says an onlooker. "He told them he'd bought it especially for the match."

Jon Gosselin hires top NYC PR firm!

JonG931_branded.jpgLife & Style has learned that the newly separated Jon & Kate Plus 8 star Jon Gosselin has retained representation: of the publicity variety! When asked last night if he's dating Kate Major instead of his recent companion Hailey Glassman, Jon told Life & Style: "You'll have to call Rubenstein."

Rubenstein Communications is a New York-based firm that has also represented David Letterman, Donald Trump, Alex Rodriguez and Christie Brinkley. A call to Rubenstein confirmed that the firm is now representing Jon.

Exclusive: Jon Gosselin: My new life with Hailey

Jon931.jpgJon Gosselin's NYC apartment has only two bedrooms and two bathrooms -- but don't call it a bachelor pad. "I'd like to take the kids to see my new place and to FAO Schwarz," the father of eight tells Life & Style. "The kids have been to New York City a bunch of times already, and they love it. I'll be able to see the kids next week. I miss them."

What his soon-to-be-ex-wife Kate won't appreciate, though, is that Jon's 22-year-old girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, has also been crashing at the $5,000-per-month pad in the Alexandria on the Upper West Side. Jon, 32, and Kate, 34, came face-to-face on July 16 at their Wernersville, Pa., home for the first time since he humiliated her by parading the party girl around St. Tropez, France, just 20 days after Jon and Kate announced their separation. "It was icier than the Arctic," says an onlooker. "All day on Thursday they both talked to the kids but didn't say a word to each other."

Jon and Kate come face to face

Katejon931.jpgWhat was Jon and Kate Gosselin's first meeting like after he humiliated her by parading his new 22-year-old girlfriend, Hailey Glassman, around Saint-Tropez? "It was icier than the Arctic," an onlooker, who saw them at their shared Wernersville, Pa., home on July 16, tells Life & Style. "The kids were clearly pleased to see their dad, but Kate wasn't."

Jon's been regularly escaping Kate's ire at his two bedroom apartment at the Alexandria on the Upper West Side in NYC. "I'd like to take the kids to see my new place, and to FAO Schwarz," the Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad tells Life & Style. "They've been to New York City a bunch of times already, and they love it."

So does their father, but he hasn't found a favorite hangout just yet. "It's hard when everyone knows you," he says. "I won't go to the Village, the East Village or Soho!"

And although he's been leaving the parenting duties to Kate recently as he lives the high life with his new constant companion, Hailey, Jon was brushing up on his Mr. Mom skills in the Big Apple on July 20. "I have to go get a mop," he told Life & Style. "My place is all dusty!"

Ed Hardy rival: I would not want Jon Gosselin as our spokesman

JON.jpgAlthough Jon Gosselin has famously worn designer Christian Audigier's Ed Hardy line, the brand's clothing rival Affliction isn't sold on the reality-TV dad as a pitchman.

"If Jon Gosselin asked to be a spokesman, I probably wouldn't hire him," Tom Atencio, co-owner of Affliction, tells Life & Style.

Atencio admits that reality TV is the current big trend. "Jon's obviously in the public eye right now. [But] I'm more about musicians [and] professional athletes. That's what works for our brand."

He also adds, "There's always that line you have to walk, especially with somebody like Jon. There are many negative connotations about him for women, so there's that worry as well."

Jon was seen hanging out with girlfriend Hailey Glassman and designer Christian Audigier in St. Tropez, France, on July 11. Jon and Christian are reportedly working together on a collaboration.

Jon Gosselin's girlfriend Hailey's Facebook profile: fake!

JON931.jpgLife & Style has learned exclusively that the Facebook profile other news sources are reporting as Hailey Glassman's is actually a fake. Hailey has gained recent notoriety for being the much younger girlfriend of reality star and -- newly divorced -- Jon Gosselin.

"Hailey deleted her Facebook profile a few days ago," Kyla McCarthy, a friend of Hailey's from her hometown, tells Life & Style. "Whatever is on Facebook now isn't her real page."

Hailey's fake profile contained many post on her wall from so-called friends slamming Jon's ex-wife, Kate.

Jon Gosselin flaunts his 22-year-old girlfriend

jonGosselin.jpgWhen Jon and Kate Gosselin announced their separation on June 22, they vowed to put their eight kids first. The couple even agreed to split their time at the Wernersville, Pa., house, with Kate living there during the week and Jon coming to take care of the children on weekends. But instead of looking after the 8-year-old twins and 5-year-old sextuplets on Saturday, July 11, the Jon & Kate Plus 8 dad was catering to a 22-year-old: his new girlfriend, Hailey Glassman.

The cozy duo were spotted in St. Tropez, France, sipping champagne aboard Ed Hardy designer Christian Audigier's private yacht, lunching at Tahiti and shopping at the luxe Hermès and Prada boutiques. Jon, 32, appeared to have forgotten all about his family. "He was holding Hailey by the hand, carrying her purse and kissing her," says a witness. "Jon was very excited to be with her."

Kate Gosselin: Forced out of her home

Kate929.jpgFor Kate Gosselin, the $1.1 million 23-acre mansion she lives in isn't just a place to call home. Since she moved in with her family last year, it's become the center of her world. It's not only where she's been on 24-hour duty as the main caretaker for her eight young children, it's also her place of work, where the family shoots the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8.

In the wake of her recent split from husband Jon, however, Kate has been forced to do what any mother would dread: leave her own home -- without her children.

Jon breaks the law on the 4th!

Jon&Kate928.jpgJon and Kate Gosselin spent time together with their children for a July 4th celebration at their Pennsylvania compound -- and broke the law in the process.

An eyewitness tells Life & Style that Jon lit sparklers, rockets, cherry bombs and firecrackers from his front lawn in broad daylight. "Things got so loud," says the witness, "that one ka-boom in particular sent all the kids scurrying back to the house." That prompted Kate to screech out, "Jon, I think that's illegal in Pennsylvania!"

Asked to comment, officer Thomas Deiterich of the Lower Heidelberg, Pa., police department tells Life & Style, "Fireworks are illegal for personal home use in the state of Pennsylvania." Deiterich went on to say that the law isn't usually enforced.

Although Jon and Kate kept their distance at times during the get-together, they and the children appeared to be a unified family at least for the day, according to the onlooker. "They were having fun."

Kate: I'll raise my kids alone

Kate928.jpgWith 10.6 million viewers watching, Jon and Kate Gosselin announced the end of their 10-year marriage in the June 22 episode of Jon & Kate Plus 8. Soon after the show aired, the couple separately released statements vowing to put their kids first. "As always," Kate said, "my first priority remains our children." Jon echoed the sentiment: "My job is to be the best, most supportive and
loving father I can be."

Since then, however, it seems only one of them means it. Kate is now acting as both mother and father to the couple's eight children, according to several sources, while Jon has been doing precious little to help her."Jon hasn't been seen at the house much since he and Kate announced the divorce," a witness tells Life & Style.

Kate: 'I need to protect my kids from Jon'

Gosselin927.jpgJon Gosselin looked like he didn't have a care in the world as he took time out from playing with the kids on June 21, Father's Day, to sign autographs for fans of Jon & Kate Plus 8 at his home in Wernersville, Pa. He joked about his dirty habit -- smoking cigarettes -- and about giving up going to clubs. "I learned my lesson," he cracked, referring to the trouble he got into recently with wife Kate after he stepped out with other women. He was blasé even when someone asked where Kate was on the special day. "I have no idea," he said with a shrug.

The reason Kate was nowhere in sight on Father's Day quickly became clear. The next day, Kate decided to end the couple's 10-year marriage, filing divorce papers at the Berks County Courthouse in Reading, Pa.

Confirmed: Jon Gosselin is moving to New York City

Jon926.jpgBrian Sep, a friend of reality-TV-star Jon Gosselin's for more than 15 years, confirms to Life & Style that Jon and his wife, Kate, have already begun living separate lives.

"Jon is planning on living and working in New York during the week and staying home with the kids on Friday, Saturday and Sunday while Kate is away," says Sep. "Jon hasn't said anything about getting divorced."

Even though Jon and Kate will be living apart, both parents want to be there for their eight children.

"Jon really seems like he's back to his old self," says Sep, who plans to visit his pal in New York City. "Whatever decision has been made, Jon seems to be at peace with it and in a good place. He doesn't know where Kate is when he's gone [but] I think that's okay with him."

Jon and Kate are expected to make a major announcement on tonight's installment of Jon and Kate Plus 8.

Jon & Kate: splitting up the kids

Jon&Kate925.jpgT he last time the Gosselins went on a beach vacation together, it was one of the happiest times of their lives. Along with the camera crew that films their TLC reality series, Jon & Kate Plus 8, Jon and Kate Gosselin and their entire brood jetted off to Hawaii in August 2008. With their eight adorable children looking on, the couple renewed their wedding vows in a touching beachfront ceremony.

Yet in the 10 months since, everything has fallen apart. Both Jon and Kate have been accused of having extramarital affairs, and both have publicly admitted they're unsure whether their marriage has a future.

So when it came time for Kate and the kids to take a getaway to the shores of Bald Head Island in North Carolina, it wasn't hard to understand why Jon didn't go along. But Cara and Mady, the 8-year-old twins the younger Gosselin children look up to and adore, didn't go either. Instead, the older girls stayed home, keeping their dad company in Wernersville, Pa.
