Though Casey Johnson's passing is no doubt a tragedy, the 30-year-old heiress' untimely death did serve to reunite childhood friends Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, who attended a private memorial at Nicky Hilton's LA house on Jan. 5. "On such a sad day it brought a smile to my face to at least have one dear friend back in my life," Paris tells Life & Style. "With my traveling, I haven't seen Nicole in a long time, and she's been so busy with having her two babies."

The former Simple Life stars, both 28, were girlhood pals who had an infamous falling-out in 2005 -- reportedly over a betrayal by Nicole that was never disclosed. Though the socialites have been in sporadic contact since, a friend close to the girls says it took tragedy to re-seal their bond. "Casey would be happy to know that even in this tragedy, she brought these friends back together," says the insider. "Like any best friends, people can get in an argument. But at the end of the day, they love each other, and that's what matters most."

"Tik Tok" singer Ke$ha, 22, has a No. 1 single, but she wasn't always living the good life. She first met Paris when the heiress dropped by Ke$ha's Nashville, Tenn., home to film an episode of The Simple Life. But years later -- after she hit the recording studio -- Ke$ha paid a visit to Paris' home during a party and left quite a surprise behind. "We were all dancing," says Ke$ha. "I got overexcited and ralphed in her closet." But Paris tells Life & Style she had no clue! "I had no idea she threw up in my closet, and if you're reading this, Ke$ha, I'm not mad," insists Paris. "You just had a little too much fun. It's all good. The only person who's probably mad is the housekeeper who found it."

Onetime party girl Paris Hilton is making the ultimate New Year's resolution: to settle down with her beau of nearly a year, Doug Reinhardt. "We've been together a year now and never spend a night apart," Paris told Life & Style's Kevin Dickson in an exclusive interview on Dec. 28. "He's truly become my best friend. He makes me feel like a princess every day."

In fact, Paris reveals, she's ready to feel like the ultimate princess -- by walking down the aisle as a blushing bride. "I wouldn't rule out a wedding in 2010," she says. "With how amazing everything is going between us, I see a very bright and happy future."
Doug, 25, is already lavishing Paris with attention -- and gifts galore. "Doug and I have shared so many amazing and special moments," Paris gushes. "One of the best things was when he rented out an entire island for us in Fiji. It was romantic, private
and relaxing -- the best vacation of my life."

But the heiress isn't just glowing from love -- she's literally sparkling. "For Christmas, Doug bought me some of the most beautiful diamond jewelry I've ever seen," she says. "He's so thoughtful and generous."

All eyes are usually on Paris Hilton when she hits the dance floor. But when she let loose to the beats of Lady Gaga at the Caribou Club in Aspen, Colo., on Dec. 28, another pretty blonde drew all the stares. "Paris was dancing with Brooke Mueller," says a partygoer. Charlie Sheen's wife lives in the same LA gated community as Paris -- but what left onlookers stunned was that Brooke was out dancing just days after her husband allegedly held a knife to her throat. "Brooke looked like she was determined to have a good time," says the partygoer, "and she did."

Brooke is also determined to make her marriage to Charlie work, no matter how dysfunctional it is. The violent Christmas Day incident sparked an infamous 911 call in which the terror-stricken mom, who was reportedly intoxicated at 8:30 a.m., told the operator, "I'm scared for my life, and he threatened me."

Standing by her man

Brooke, 32, took her first step toward fixing her marriage to Charlie, 44, when she asked criminal defense lawyer Yale Galanter -- who has represented O.J. Simpson -- to file papers in Aspen asking a judge to alter the protective order that was put in place so the two can have contact again.

The kids are also a huge factor. "They have absolutely gorgeous little babies and will do all they can to work out their problems," says Galanter, referring to 10-month-old twins
Bob and Max. While Charlie's lawyers are staying mum about the children, an insider close to the actor says Charlie is terrified he'll lose them, and that's what's driving him to save his marriage.

After the announcement of Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson's sudden death this evening, many of Casey's friends still cannot believe she's gone. "I am devastated to hear this news," Paris Hilton tells Life & Style. Casey's parents have been friends with Paris' parents since before both girls were born; Paris and Casey were raised together. Paris' sister Nicky Hilton, is even godmother to Casey's adopted daughter, Ava, 3. "I've known Casey since I was a baby," Paris continues. "She had a big heart and she was a good friend. I feel so sad, I don't want to believe it. My condolences go out to her family and loved ones."

Casey was found dead in her LA home this morning. She gained recent notoriety for her reported engagement to reality star Tila Tequila.

As the investigation continues into the burglaries of Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan, one of the starlets can finally breathe easy.

Paris exclusively tells Life & Style of the relieving news she received today from the Beverly Hills Police Department, and how gracious she is to have most of her jewelry stolen from the burglary returned to her.

"I am so grateful to the LAPD for finding out who robbed my house and
returning my jewelry to me," Paris tells Life & Style.

Hopefully Lindsay will be hearing the same relief too!

At Sunday's MTV Movie Awards in LA, viewers were shocked when Sacha Baron Cohen landed nearly butt-naked on rapper Eminem's face. A shocked Eminem then cursed and stormed out of the theater.

But an MTV insider has told Life & Style that producer Mark Burnett cleared the prank with the rapper beforehand. However, Eminem wasn't aware of exactly how naked Sacha would be when he agreed to do it!

A second insider also confirms that Eminem was actually Burnett's second choice. The first? Heiress Paris Hilton, who, luckily for her, declined to participate (probably because she was on a date with boyfriend Doug Reinhardt!). "Paris is quite happy she turned down the offer," the insider tells Life & Style.

Paris Hilton's hot new romance with Doug Reinhardt just got a little more serious. "Doug bought Paris a $10,000 teacup Pomeranian when they were in Japan recently," reveals an insider. Paris and Doug traveled to Tokyo on Feb. 24 to promote Samantha Thavasa (Paris' sister, Nicky Hilton, designs Samantha Thavasa New York). "We had a great time," Paris told Life & Style outside an LA tanning salon after the trip. Doug doted on her too. "He went with her to all her appearances and shoots and would just stare at her adoringly," says the insider. "He says she's the hottest girl on the planet."

And Paris digs Doug. "She thinks he's really funny and sweet," says the insider. "When she ended her previous relationship with Benji [Madden], she promised herself she'd be single for a year. But she thinks Doug's handsome, generous and fun to be with." Benji was just too boring, says an insider. "He was so strict and controlling and never let her go out," says the insider.

While downing Stella Artois at LA's Palihouse hotel on Feb. 18, Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson joked about his workout regimen -- or lack thereof. "Yeah, I do what I can," an eyewitness says Robert told a producer, adding that instead of a six-pack, "I prefer a 12-pack." And that appears to be fine with the ladies, who are seemingly fighting to get close to the star. In recent weeks, Robert's been spotted with a bevy of beauties, prompting the question: Who exactly is the vampire dating?

"I saw him at [agents] Patrick Whitesell and Rick Yorn's Oscar party on Feb. 22, and he appeared to be alone," says a partygoer. "But he was definitely interested in a lot of the women there, and vice versa. He would talk to one girl and then the next and then the next. Robert was talking to every girl at the party." Including Paris Hilton! "I keep getting asked if I'm dating Rob, and the answer is no," Paris, 28, tells Life & Style. "Yes, I did meet him at a party, but that's it. I do love Twilight, though, and I think Robert's a great actor and very nice."

Friends who thought they were exchanging e-mails with Paris Hilton recently might want to confirm they were actually corresponding with the one and only heiress.

A hacker broke into Paris' Gmail account and wrote messages while pretending to be the star, Life & Style has learned. "I can't believe someone would hack into my e-mail account and send people e-mails acting as if they were me," Paris tells Life & Style. "It's such an invasion of privacy."

When Paris Hilton sat beside George Clooney at Hollywood hot spot Dan Tana's on Dec. 20, it just looked like a bizarre business meeting. After all, the duo were joined for dinner by a group that included director Ridley Scott, Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel and Brittany Flickinger, the winner of Paris' BFF reality show. "It was an odd group for a dinner party," notes an onlooker.

But it wasn't the first time the heartthrob and the heiress had been out together. Life & Style has learned exclusively that the night before, George, 47, and Paris, 27, had a far more intimate meeting at the Whiskey Bar at the Sunset Marquis hotel in West Hollywood.

Paris Hilton exclusively tells Life & Style she's "devastated" by the burglary of over $2 million worth of baubles from her LA home between late Thursday evening and 4 a.m. Friday.

"I am devastated. I cannot believe someone broke into my home. They took
items that had such sentimental value that no one will ever be able to replace," she tells Life & Style. "I'm just thankful that I wasn't there when it happened."

The heiress was out partying in LA when her home was broken into. An insider tells Life & Style that "millions of dollars of jewelry was stolen -- diamonds, necklaces, rings, watches and family heirlooms from her grandmothers."

Luckily, though, the insider says the thief was caught on tape. "Paris has surveillance cameras set up in every room," says the insider, who's seen the tapes. "The thief was wearing a black hoody and knew exactly where to go, like he's been there before."

Taking no risks, "Paris has upped her security team to three 24-hour
bodyguards, and she has someone on her property at all times," adds the insider. "Detectives are doing a huge investigation."

It's all over between Paris Hilton and boyfriend Benji Madden, Life & Style can officially report.

"Sadly, it's true," Vanessa Fontana, a
contestant on Paris' BFF show, confirms exclusively to Life & Style. "Paris and Benji have split. I love Paris, and I just want her to be happy. I think that they'll be better as friends."

Vanessa disputed rumors that the split had anything to do with Paris' brief reunion with ex Stavros Niarchos this past weekend in Miami.

"No, nobody else is involved," she says. "Paris and Benji were loyal
and faithful to each other. I was with Paris in Miami, and Stavros came over
to our table, and the two of them talked for literally two minutes. It was a friendly
conversation. They definitely did not hook up."

Sources say the breakup is due to the basic differences in the couple:
Benji is a quiet homebody, while Paris is very social, both personally
and professionally. And in recent weeks, the strain was beginning to
show.

"All of Paris' friends have noticed that she hasn't been happy
lately," says a friend. "Benji told Paris he didn't like the BFFs from her
show, and that he disapproves of her friends and doesn't get along with her
sister."

Their work schedules have not helped: Paris regularly travels the world,
and is booked with back-to-back projects for the next 12 months, while Benji
is currently in the recording studio working on a new
Good Charlotte album with his twin, Joel.

Paris is said to be devastated by the breakup. "She wishes it could
be different," says the friend. "Benji always treated her like his princess.
He's a really great guy with a big heart and she loves him very much.
Maybe at some point in the future, the two of them could try again, but
right now, they're just too different as people."
