Sarah Jessica Parker was her typical glamorous self at the NYC premiere of her new film, Did You Hear About the Morgans?, on Dec. 14. But while she charmed the crowd in a floaty Sophie Theallet frock and cutout Nicholas Kirkwood slingbacks, her mind was somewhere else: on her three kids, 7-year-old James Wilkie and 6-month-old fraternal twins Tabitha and Marion, born in June via a surrogate.
So when Life & Style caught up with SJP, 44, at the premiere, she was eager to talk about motherhood -- and its challenges. "You should ask all those other [working] mothers out there what the hardest part is," she told Life & Style. "They do it too, and they do it with less help, probably, and fewer rewards."
Sarah Jessica has always been tight-lipped about her personal life. But recently she's been surprisingly candid about her struggle to raise happy, healthy children while maintaining a blockbuster career. "It's the most perfectly overwhelming experience," she says. "It's a balancing act, and I'm sure I'm failing miserably. Some days are absolutely triumphant. Other days, you've basically let everybody down, and you lie in bed and live in regret."
