After a brief "time off" Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have been spotted together around the country. The most recent sighting, as these Life & Style exclusive photos show, was a lunch date on Sept. 13 in Covington, Ky., near Nick's hometown of Cincinnati.

"They sat outside on the patio at First Watch restaurant. When they first walked in, they were holding hands and seemed very much like a couple," an eyewitness tells Life & Style. "I didn't know until after the lunch that they were broken up! It certainly didn't look like it."

"They started acting like an old married couple," adds the eyewitness. "They didn't kiss in public, but their body language was definitely saying more than just friends."

Nick and Vanessa have recently been out and about since their reported split in June behaving very much like a couple everywhere from LA to NY to Nick's home turf!

There have been rumors, but now Life & Style has proof that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo have rekindled their love! The pair were spotted at McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon in NYC on Wednesday night.

"They seemed very laid back and were very friendly to the staff and fellow patrons," an eyewitness tells Life & Style. The two called it an early night and headed out together around 9 p.m.

Nick and Vanessa, who split in June, have been spotted canoodling in NYC and LA in the past few weeks.

It looks like Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillio are definitely on again! The couple were spotted deep in conversation at Billy Marks West bar in NYC last night.

"They were both there to celebrate a friend's birthday," a friend of Vanessa's tells Life & Style. "They stood by the bar the entire time, talking pretty much only to each other." The two were also spotted reconnecting at a bar in LA this past weekend.

While the couple weren't overly touchy-feely, "you could tell they were together," the friend says. "It was more in how serious they looked at each other that told you that they were more than just friends."

The two may also have been trying to downplay their romance to avoid being spotted by fellow partygoers.

Once the duo left the bar, however, they couldn't resist each other! "They held hands waiting for a cab and then hopped in the cab together," says the friend.

Life & Style can confirm that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo have split after dating for almost two years. The breakup came the night before Jessica's 29th birthday, last Friday.

"She's pretty bummed and sad," a friend of Jessica's tells Life & Style. "They weren't good anymore [and] fighting. He's away a lot, she's getting ready to work on a new project. It became obvious they just weren't meant to be."

Meanwhile Tony, the Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, has been hanging around in LA, according to the friend. "I think he was acting like a single guy before he ever made it official."

The friend adds that Jess and Tony were at a golf event together in Maryland on July 1. "It wasn't an act, but they were having their problems. They were kind of off and on at that point."

But Jessica's still putting a good face on things. "Everyone needs to know that hope floats," she Twittered after the breakup. "Grab the strings and pull it back to you." A few hours later she wrote: "Please, Lord, give all of my beautiful fans, friends, enemies, and family rest. Bring all of us peace."

Coincidentally Jessica's ex-husband, Nick Lachey, is newly single also after he and girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo announced their split less than three weeks ago. "Jessica hasn't spoken to Nick," her friend says. "They don't talk."

It seems Nick Lachey's breakup from longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo caught everyone by surprise, even their friends! "I didn't know about it!" Kim Kardashian told Life & Style at the Axe Instinct and Rolling Stone The Power of Leather party in New York on June 24. "I didn't know that, but I wish them the best."

But, Kim, who dated Nick in 2006 after his split from Jessica Simpson, had kind words for both Nick and Vanessa. "They're so nice. Individually and together, they're both so sweet, so whatever makes them happy, you know?"

Vanessa Minnillo, who, after months of speculation, recently broke up with Nick Lachey, has wasted no time getting out there on the singles scene.

An insider tells Life & Style she saw Vanessa at the Reebok Easytone party in Beverly Hills on June 23. "She certainly wasn't moping in the corner or looking upset over her breakup at all," says the insider. "I saw her talking to three or four really cute guys. She totally seemed to be flirting and didn't look like she was upset or anything."

The insider says that the former Total Request Live co-host appeared to be having fun hanging out with a girlfriend. "Vanessa doesn't strike me as the type of girl that will remain single for long. She looks like she's on the prowl and that she'll stop at nothing to get her prey."
