For Eric Mabius and his wife, Ivy, the arrival of their second son, Rylan, unfolded like a scene from Eric's hit ABC series, Ugly Betty. In the early morning hours of Dec. 7, Eric and an in-labor Ivy rushed to catch an NYC cab -- only to have it run out of gas en route to the hospital! "We had to pull over to the side of the highway," Eric tells Life & Style.

"The driver got out and started waving his hands to hail another cab." Thankfully, the couple were able to catch one. But after the stressful trip and a 90-minute delivery, the story had a perfect ending: the birth of 10 pound, 3 ounce Rylan Jaxson. In the five months since, Rylan's put on around 9 pounds, according to his proud parents, who recently opened up their Brooklyn home to Life & Style. "When he came out, he was so big, he looked like a toddler," Eric, 38, says with a laugh. "It was wild."

For now, Eric and Ivy, who tied the knot in February 2006, say they aren't sure whether they'll have a third. "We each come from two-children families," Eric explains. "We think it's a good, round number." And a whole lot of work besides. "Two kids are definitely more work than one," he says. "But they're only going to be this age once. I don't want to miss anything."

She's only 7 weeks old, but the daughter of David Alan Basche and Sideways actress Alysia Reiner is already following in her parents' footsteps. "She knows how to mess up that diaper right on cue," David, 40, tells Life & Style about his baby girl, Livia Charles Basche. "She has perfect comedic timing, just like her mom."

In fact, timing was everything when it came to Livia's birth, as Life & Style learned during a recent visit to the couple's NYC home.

"We made it to the birthing center just in time," says Alysia, 38, describing their Dec. 5 ride in rush-hour traffic. "I went into labor at 2:45 p.m. and gave birth at 5:14. She came so quickly. I was very, very lucky."

Indeed, the 7-pound, 20½-inch infant arrived so rapidly, there was no time for daddy jitters. "I think it happened too fast for me to be a basket case," says David, who stars on USA's The Starter Wife. "I'm a little bit of a basket case now."

Little Violet is no longer the baby of the Affleck-Garner family. The 3-year-old has a brand-new baby sister!

Jennifer, 36, gave birth to the newest addition in Los Angeles on Tuesday, and mother and child are both said to be doing fine.

Talk about spreading good tidings. Just before Christmas, international bicycling sensation Lance Armstrong announced that he and girlfriend Anna Hansen, a Colorado-based nonprofit employee, are having a baby. "Anna and I are thrilled to confirm that we are expecting in June," Lance said in a statement released to Life & Style on Dec. 23. "We are eager to celebrate the holidays as a family."

And while pregnancy news is exciting for any couple, for Lance, 37, it was a huge shock as well. A survivor of testicular cancer, he underwent chemotherapy treatments, which could render men infertile. Ye his pregnancy with Anna, Lance reveals, occurred the old-fashioned way.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz rewarded their fans with an extra-special present this holiday season: the first photo of their 5-week-old son, Bronx Mowgli. "We decided to share the best gift we could ever receive with you," they blogged on the fan site FriendsOrEnemies.com on Christmas Day. "We couldn't be happier."

The adorable photo "was shot when Bronx was 3 weeks old," a source tells Life & Style.

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are parents — again! Naomi, 40, gave birth to the couple's second son on Saturday in NYC.

Naomi and Liev, who met on the set of their 2006 movie, The Painted Veil, welcomed their first son, Alexander Pete Schreiber, on July 26, 2007.

Eisner, a film producer and son of former Disney head Michael Eisner, are new parents. Daughter Eloise Breckenridge Eisner weighed 9½ pounds when she arrived at 9:59 a.m. on Monday.

Last night, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and hubby Pete welcomed their first baby, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

And today, Ashlee's sister, Jessica Simpson, can barely contain herself. "Bronx is beyond precious," Jessica says. "I'm over the moon with joy. Life is a beautiful miracle. Ashlee and Pete are healthy, happy and enjoying every moment."

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz had her baby last night at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA. And she and new dad Pete Wentz named the new arrival — their first — Bronx Mowgli, a combination of the name of one of NYC's five boroughs and the boy hero in the beloved Jungle Book.

"Proud new parents Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz welcomed new son, Bronx Mowgli Wentz, late this evening," a representative for the couple annnounced.

"Bronx weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz. and is 20.5 inches long," the rep said. "Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!"

The race is on to get Ashlee Simpson set up with all the things the mom-to-be will need for the imminent arrival of her baby. In fact, "she's having a last-minute baby shower tomorrow," an insider tells Life & Style. "The location is top secret. They'll send out an e-mail to all invited guests early Saturday morning. Ashlee was eyeing the Bel-Air hotel in LA -- but no one will know exactly until tomorrow morning.

"This could be the last chance for everyone to see Ashlee before she becomes a mom," the insider says. As husband Pete Wentz told Ryan Seacrest recently: "I am on call permanently right now. She's at the very end, and it could happen at any point."
