Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Mariska Hargitay attended the Joyful Heart Foundation Gala in New York City on May 5 looking healthy and happy after suffering from a partially collapsed lung during the Christmas holiday. She told Life & Style, "I'm feeling so much better. I'm lucky, because I'm really strong and I recuperated quickly." Her SVU co-star Chris Meloni was happy to have Mariska back on the show, but the cast had had little time to prepare a welcome-back celebration. Chris joked, "At the end of our season, we just said, 'Hey, how are ya? Hit your mark, know your lines, let's go.'"
The auction raised $450,000 for charity with the help of the SVU cast, Hilary Swank, Sheryl Crow, Debra Messing and others who attended the event.
