Ready to LOL? Paul Blart: Mall Cop's Kevin James will be hosting Nickelodeon's 23rd Annual Kids' Choice Awards!

"I have been lucky enough to live more than my share of dreams -- a hit TV show, a hit movie, a beautiful family, and, of course, that prize-winning watermelon I grew last summer," Kevin says. "Yet throughout it all, I've had this nagging feeling that my journey wasn't complete. Oh, sure, it's been quite a ride, but it lacked something... something green, slimy, oozing, slippery and dangerous! That's right -- there's been no slime... until today! In short, I guess you could say hosting the Kids' Choice Awards completes me."

This year's KCA nominees include The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Selena Gomez, Miranda Cosgrove, Zac Efron, and Keke Palmer. Check out the complete list here. The awards show will air live on Nickelodeon on Saturday, March 27, at 8 pm ET/PT.

Miley Cyrus leads this year's Kids' Choice Awards nominations with four -- Favorite Movie Actress, TV Actress, Female Singer, and Favorite Song. Other big nominees include The Twilight Saga: New Moon with two nominations, including Favorite Movie Actor for Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift also with two nominations.

J-14 hopes you're having a great holiday season! This year has been a busy one for Twilight's Cullen family with the release of New Moon and the filming of Eclipse! Besides being known as the hungriest Cullen kid Jasper, Jackson Rathbone has made a name for his musical self -- with his band 100 Monkeys! Happy Birthday, Jackson!

Fun Facts about Jackson:
-Jackson must have had some bad luck in his dating past. When J-14 asked what he'd do if he found out his girlfriend was a vampire, Jackson told us: "I actually think most of my ex-girlfriends were vampires and didn't tell me! They were the evil kind."
-You read it in J-14 first: Jasper was a reporter for Disney 411 and interviewed stars like Hilary Duff!
-Jackson had his first kiss in the middle of the movie theater while watching Titanic. How romantic!

New Moon Premieres 11/20

Twi-hards had been waiting all year for this big day! In its opening weekend alone, the flick made over 140 million dollars, making it the third top grossing opening weekend of all time! The next movie in the Twi-series, Eclipse, has wrapped production and will be premiering in June to what some are expecting to be even bigger numbers!

This past year we were partying in the USA with vampires and werewolves while going gaga for a pop cutie who made us feel like one less lonley girl. We watched a country star rise to the top and saw one of our favorite rockers get engaged -- and that's just the tip of the iceberg! Everyone was wondering if Taylor Lautner would mentioned his rumored-GF Taylor Swift during his SNL monologue just like she did -- and he did! Taylor L. used his karate skills to "defend" Taylor S. against Kanye West.

The New Moon hottie also did a hilarious sketch about Team Edward vs. Team Jacob!

Selena Gomez has a post-Nick fling with Taylor Lautner

After having her heart broken by Nick Jonas at the end of 2008, Selena found happiness, if only for a short time, with Taylor Lautner. The two were both in Vancouver while she shot Ramona and Beezus and he filmed New Moon. Once they returned to LA, both realized they were better off as friends, and continue to be to this day.

Twilight's Hair Drama
Early in the year, Rob shocked the Twi-nation by buzzing off his famously messy locks. Rumors ran rampant that the producers of New Moon were scrambling to figure out how to shoot the movie around Rob's new 'do. Some even claimed RPattz was being forced to wear extensions to recreate his longer locks. Luckily for everyone, by the time New Moon began shooting in the spring, Rob's hair had grown back! Phew!

iCarly's Jennette McCurdy is super busy! She just finished filming the upcoming Nickelodeon movie, Best Player, in Vancouver, the new iCarly movie, iQuit iCarly, airs this Saturday, and she's been going back and forth between Los Angeles and Nashville to record her upcoming country album! J-14 chatted with Jennette about her and a near-Twilight encounter in Canada!

J-14: What is iQuit iCarly all about?
Jennette McCurdy: It's a very exciting movie because Carly and Sam get into the biggest fight tthe audience has ever seen them get into yet. They have different views on how to run the web show. Sam's more laid-back and thinks iCarly should be run by going with the flow, a more impromptu style with more improv, and Carly thinks it should be more scripted, scheduled, and timed. They both have different but cool approaches, and they start arguing with each other. Then they meet these two boys -- one has Carly's view and one has Sam's view. Carly and Sam now have their right-hand man and that makes the fight even worse than it would have been if it was just the girls.

J-14: What was your favorite part about filming the movie?
Jennette: We got to dress up like purple aliens! We had these unitard, spandex outfits with purple wigs -- very unforgiving on the body and hair! Also, Miranda dressed up as a hobo and I dressed up as a vampire, complete with fangs, so it was very fitting for the whole vampire craze right now.

Hello my beautiful J-14ers!

It shouldn't be a surprise to you that the J-14 staff is totally obsessed with all things Twilight. We even went to go see New Moon together! This past Tuesday, fellow editors Danielle, Katelyn, and myself decided that just like celebs like Kim Kardashian and Ashley Tidale, we NEEDED to have one of the New Moon water bottles from Burger King. So we went on a mission during our lunch break...

The girls and I got in my car and off we went to the local Burger King. The whole drive we talked about which bottle we were going to get -- Katelyn and I are Team Edward (Hello -- hot, brooding vampire!) and Danielle swears she's the captain of Team Jacob! When we got to BK, we waited patiently in line until it was our turn. The anticipation was killing us! When we finally got to the front of the line, the lady behind the counter told us they didn't have any water bottles! Ummm -- are you kidding me?! I thought Danielle was going to cry.

However, luckily for us, the lady also told us that there was another Burger King just a few miles down the road. So we got back in my car and set our sights on finding the other BK.

After about 10 minutes of driving, we saw the big BK burger sign in the distance! I said to the girls that I had a good feeling about this -- and boy, was I... wrong! After waiting in an even longer line that the first BK, the lady behind the counter told us they were completely sold out! UGH! Is there any justice in the world?!

So after whining to the lady (just kiddingggg), we settled on the next best thing: New Moon Burger King crowns. For an added bonus, I bought the special extra large New Moon soda cup. See:

The girls and I have not given up hope. We are now determined more so than ever before to find these water bottles. But guess what J-14ers -- we have 10 bottles in the office to give away! I'm beyond jealous of the girls who will win! ;-)

New Moon Casting Drama
Members of "Team Taylor" were biting their nails and holding their breath until early January. That's when it was officially announced that Taylor Lautner would, in fact, be coming back as Jacob in New Moon. Fans were also excited to hear that Dakota Fanning would be joining the cast as Jane.

Although Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart do not have personal Twitters, they wanted to thank their fans on the official Twilight Twitter for helping them make box office history this past weekend:

"From Rob - Thank you for making NEW MOON #1. It's very exciting to be a part of something embraced by so many people. I hope you are looking forward to ECLIPSE as much as I am."

Hey J-14ers,

If you've been keeping up with J-14's blogs, it's probably not a huge secret that I'm a pop-punk fan (well, a music fan in general, obvi!). I've been into this group lately called Sparks The Rescue, and meeting them on the 2009 mtvU Woodie Awards red carpet only made me like them more!

Not only are they a cool group of guys, the music video for their new single, "We Love Like Vampires," features lead singer Alex Roy as, well, a vampire! But don't worry -- it's not a New Moon spoof! "We decided to go against the Twilight thing and be more campy, more like comical and old school vampire as opposed to these sexy vampires," Alex tells J-14.

The video premiered on their MySpace page today, but we've got it for you here too!

The Twilight Saga: New Moon dominated the box office this week -- and broke records doing so! (Really -- did we expect anything less?!)

On opening day alone, New Moon made $72.7 million making it the best opening day of a movie EVER. The previous record holder was The Dark Knight, which made $67.2 million.

New Moon also earned the honor of being the third best weekend opening of all time, raking in $140.7 million in the US! Worldwide it made $258.8 million! Congrats to the awesome cast!

J-14: How did Rob and Kristen build up their chemistry for the first Twilight?

Taylor Lautner: I do remember that they would watch movies together and listen to music together I believe. They actually have a lot of similarities -- Kristen and Rob just clicked.

J-14: And that translated on screen?

Taylor: They just clicked -- they have a great relationship. They were always friends outside of filming, so Edward and Bella are doing good.

Hi there J-14ers!

It's crazy that after an excruciating year-long wait since its predecessor, in the fastest 130 minutes ever, it was all over.

There was the debate over whether Taylor Lautner would be recast, there were the surprise big-name casting announcements (Dakota Fanning!), and there was the endless speculation about whether on-screen sparks between Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart had lead to a real-life relationship.

But strip away the controversies and hype around The Twilight Saga: New Moon (opening tomorrow), and what you have is simple story anyone can relate to: a young girl with a "hole" in her heart after losing her first love.

Sure, with its sleeker makeup (less campy, more vamp-y) and high-tech special effects (sparkles worth "ooh"-ing for), New Moon is more of a slick "Hollywood" film than the gritty indy feel of the first Twilight. But at the core, it retains what has turned it into an international phenomenon -- the irresistible eternal love story between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, this century's Romeo and Juliet.

And then, of course, there's the werewolf factor -- which heats up this movie (literally!). With Rob Pattinson as the clear central character of the first film, skeptics doubted whether 17-year-old Taylor Lautner could step into the role of a physically more powerful character, Jacob Black.

From the first millisecond he appears on screen, there's no doubt that this guy was born to play this role. His age is barely a factor, as he steps it up big time, taking charge -- both flirting with and protecting Bella. Taylor shows he's got the chops to take what was a three-scene role in the first movie into leading-man territory.

Oh, and did I mention yet that this serious heart-wrenching vampire-werewolf movie is actually funny?! The theater erupted in laughter constantly -- from the wisecracks of Bella's high school friends to the endearing one-liners from Bella's dad, Charlie (dare we suggest Team Charlie?!).

But whether you're Team Jacob or Team Edward (which I clearly remain after this movie!), New Moon is really all about Team Bella. Kristen Stewart is the true star of the film -- capturing the realness of the confusing times of heartache, heartbreak, and ultimately true love.

And I promise you no spoilers, but I'll guarantee you one thing -- the very last line will leave you screaming... and wishing you could borrow Hermione's time-turner from Rob's other movie franchise, Harry Potter, to fast-forward to June 30, when The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits theaters!

J-14: Rosalie Cullen is all about beauty -- is that a lot of pressure to play?

Nikki: I feel incredible insecure. I feel embarrassed. At times flattered and at times, I just want to apologize to everybody. You know, I'm really appreciative to have that role, but in order for me to not just like fall apart because of the pressure of playing that character with that description is just sort of unbearable at times.

J-14: Do you try to turn the focus away from her looks?

Nikki: I just tried to look at her as every other aspect aside from her being the most beautiful. When you have like 30 million people reading a book, everyone's going to picture in their minds who the most beautiful person in the world is -- it's not me and I know that. But I'm really grateful to all those people that think that I fit that -- thank you.

Team Edward? Team Jacob? Nah! While the rest of the world has New Moon fever, Miley Cyus hasn't caught the disease! (New Moon-itis?!)

"I've never seen it and nor will I ever," Miley says. "I don't like vampires. I don't like the wolf that pops out of the screen when I'm watching my TV at night. I don't like it. I don't want anything to do with it. I don't like the shirts. I don't like any of it."

One things for sure, Miley won't be rushing to the theater this Friday when New Moon finally comes out. "I feel really lame because everyone's, like, so excited," she says. "I'm like, 'Don't even talk about it.'"
