Support Breast Cancer Awareness: Band Tees from Victory Records!

VictoryTees_BreastCancerAwarenessMonth.jpg

If you've been seeing a lot of pink in some weird places -- like on football players during last week's NFL games or on, say, your brother -- it's probably because this month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (or because they really like pink and just haven't told you yet).

This month is all about supporting breast cancer research in a fashionable way, and Victory Records is psyched to help out the cause. Ten designs from Victory Records bands -- including Bayside, A Day To Remember, and Silverstein -- got a pink-themed reboot! Not only do they come in girls' and guys' sizes, 15% of all sales from these "Victory Over Cancer" tees will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Check out all of the limited-edition tees at Victory Records.

How do you feel about bands helping out the cause? What would you do to raise awareness?

Exclusive Q & A with A Day To Remember's Jeremy McKinnon

ADayToRemember_JeremyMcKinnon.jpg

A Day To Remember have been criss-crossing the country like crazy for "The Pulling Your Pud" Tour, but lead singer Jeremy McKinnon took time out to let J-14 know what's been going on lately. Jeremy gave us the scoop on ADTR's latest album, Homesick (it was produced by A New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert -- yep, that'd be the BF of Paramore's Hayley Williams!), their new guitarist, and the band Jeremy is dying to play with!

J-14: What made you want to form A Day To Remember six years ago?
Jeremy McKinnon:
Our old guitar player Tom Denney hit me up about singing in a new band he was forming, and everyone else just kind of fell into place shortly after. A kid we had in the band for like weeks came up with the name [A Day To Remember], and we liked it a lot. He wasn't such a good guitar player though, so we kicked him out.

J-14: What is your favorite track offHomesick?
Jeremy:
"I'm Made Of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of?" -- it's different from a lot of the other songs on the record, and I really like the feel it has.

J-14: Is one track more personal to you than the rest?
Jeremy:
The acoustic song "If It Means A Lot To You," by far. It took me a year to write because I wanted it to say exactly what I wanted, and I accomplished that. It's about the hardships of life on the road and juggling a relationship at the same time.

Tom recently left the band. What's it been like having Kevin Skaff on the road now instead?
Jeremy:
It's been great. Tom got to a point where he didn't want to be in the band anymore, and it brought everyone else down. Now he is happy, and so are we. Kevin is really stoked to be in the band, and it really helps us be motivated.

J-14: What's one thing you have to have on tour with you?
Jeremy:
My acoustic guitar. Something about an acoustic just makes it easy to write for me. I can't go without one.

J-14: If you could play with anyone in the world, who would it be and why?
Jeremy:
Blink 182 -- because it's got to happen.
