J-14: Who did you bond the most with during the filming of The Twilight Saga movies?
Taylor Lautner: The most is pretty hard. I really bonded with Nikki Reed. I spend a lot of time with Nikki and Kristen.
J-14: What's it like working with Kristen so closely?
Taylor: Kristen's a great girl. A lot of fun to be around. She's such a talented actress. It's awesome to be acting opposite of someone like that. She's amazing. It's a lot of fun!

J-14 exclusive interview: Nikki Reed Dishes On Bella
J-14: Some fans of the books think that Bella comes off as depressed and is almost seen as weak because she's lost without her guy in New Moon. How do you feel about that?
Nikki Reed: I think that's what makes Bella so appealing though, is that everyone can relate to that time. I mean, if we're going to associate her with, like, a completely healthy woman then I would have a lot to say about Bella -- but she's a kid. She's a kid and we forget because Stephenie [Meyer] has created such an adult relationship between Bella and Edward. You forget that Bella is still just a kid who lives with her dad, who's very opinionated and very self righteous in a certain sense, but she still needs guidance. This is just her perspective, you know what I mean?
J-14: And by the end of this Twilight chapter, Bella is getting ready to consider marriage. Do you agree with that as her "sibling?"
Nikki: I mean, absolutely not. Am I speaking as Rosalie or Nikki?
J-14: Both!
Nikki: I think the beauty is that this is Stephenie Meyer's world. She created this so it's sort of like, anything goes! Do I think people should be getting married at 18 or 19-years-old? I don't know. It's really not for me to say. I'm not married. No one at this table that I'm sitting with [that would be Jackson Rathbone and Kellan Lutz] is married but I guess you never know what happens tomorrow.

For today's exclusive J-14 New Moon special, we chatted with Michael Welch, who plays Mike Newton, about why his poor character can't get the the girl he wants, Bella Swan...

J-14 exclusive interview with Michael Welch on Team Mike:
J-14: So Team Edward and Team Jacob are always duking it out -- but no one's ever Team Mike -- why do you think that is? Mike is trying just as hard!
Michael Welch: Oh he sure is, yeah. It's really funny because there's nothing wrong with Mike. He's a perfectly adequate high school boyfriend but he just happens to be in this situation where he's competing with these supernatural beings that happen to be two of the most beautiful creatures in the world. So it's like, what's he going to do?
J-14: So if Jacob wasn't a werewolf and Edward wasn't a vampire, do you think Mike would have a better chance?
Mike: Yeah, I do -- although ultimately, I don't think a Mike-Bella relationship would have worked out particularly well because it's one of those situations where one person is clearly more infatuated with the other person and it doesn't quite go the other way around. Those situations don't typically tend to work out, especially in high school. So I actually think Mike and Bella's relationship is perfect the way it is, but it's probably difficult for Mike to see that while he's going after her.

As J-14 previously reported, Taylor Lautner, Rob Pattinson, and Kristen Stewart officially premiered this new trailer for New Moon last night at the VMAs.

She's got the coolest (literally!) guy on earth and the hottest (again, literally!) guy BFF ever! As jealous as we are of her, we still love Isabella "Bella" Marie Swan (Spoiler alert: turned Bella Cullen)... and today's her birthday (no, not Kristen Stewart's... the character of Bella!) She was technically born on September 13, 1987, making today her 22nd birthday!
Fun Facts:
- Her high school prom dress was based on one from 2003's Paris Fashion Week that was light yellow.
- Bella's move to Forks, Washington, was modeled after editor Stephenie Meyer's real-life move from high school to college.
- She had a part-time job at Newton's Olympic Outfitters.
- Bella has stubby fingernails because she has a nervous habit of biting them!

When we asked J-14 readers what they wanted to ask The Twilight Saga: New Moon cast members, tons of you commented at j14.com and Tweeted us @j14magazine saying that you don't like Kristen Stewart's "Bella" wig that she has on for the filming of Eclipse. (Kristen just played Joan Jett in The Runaways and had a shorter 'do for that film, so she needed to put on a wig to get her Bella Swan hair back).
So we tracked down a shot of Kristen in the wig shooting the graduation scene in Eclipse... and we want to know... what do you guys think of Bella's wig?

Twilight fans beware -- Victoria might have the power of evasion... but she'll have a totally different look in the third installment of the film, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which begins filming in Vancouver next month.
Summit Entertainment just confirmed to J-14 minutes ago that Rachelle Lefevre will NOT be returning to film the third chapter of the film series.
Instead, the Golden Globe-nominated star of Terminator Salvation and Spider-Man 3, Bryce Dallas Howard, will take over the role. Rachelle was unable to continue the role due to scheduling conflicts with another commitment.
The character of Victoria is more prominent in Eclipse, as she creates an army of newborn vampires that the Cullens must take down.
The official description of the movie reads: "In The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob - knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life."
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse will open in theaters on June 30, 2010.

Getting anxious about the countdown to The Twilight Saga: New Moon on November 20? (136 days to go... not that we're counting or anything ;) ). If you want to cut your wait short by two days... go to France!
Yup, the Twilight sequel is opening in France on November 18 -- that's two days earlier than in the United States. Not just that, the movies and book series have different French titles. Twilight = Fascination, New Moon = Tentation, Eclipse = Hésitation, Breaking Dawn = Révélation (Even if you don't speak French, kinda makes sense, huh?).
Either way, you've got to see Bella Swan and Edward Cullen en francais... check out this trailer of New Moon dubbed in French, complete with the earlier release date.
Of course we're not suggesting any Twihards buy a plane ticket to Paris, BUT we do want to know... what's the craziest thing you'd do to see New Moon earlier?

J-14 caught up with Justin Chon who plays Eric Yorkie in The Twilight Saga movies -- and he spilled about awkward moments with Kristen Stewart, being stalked by paparazzi, and the musical cast of Twilight!
J-14: In Twilight, did you draw from your own high school experience to flirt with Bella Swan in the cafeteria?
Justin Chon: Of course. As an actor you're always trying to draw from real stuff to make it real, but I would say in acting terms, you use like substitutions and you think back to the moment. I just tried to make him as awkward as possible and just overly excited about everything.
J-14: What was it like flirting with Kristen Stewart?
Justin: Her character is just really awkward. So you put two really awkward people together and it's just a really funny thing to see them try and have a fluid conversation.
J-14: What was your reaction to all of the paparazzi at the airport when you landed in Vancouver?
Justin: The paparazzi were a total surprise. I think there's a picture of me with my mouth open. It's really pretty funny because I just had no idea what was going on. And I asked Anna [Kendrick], "Wait are they taking pictures of us?" We just had no idea and then we realized they were taking pictures of us and we were just like, "Whoa!"
J-14: You're a musician -- and so are Rob Pattinson, Jackson Rathbone, and Nikki Reed... what was it like working with such a musical cast?
Justin: It's kind of weird because everyone is like, "Oh yeah! I play guitar!" And then for me, I just didn't even tell anybody. I was just like, "Yeah, I guess everyone plays the guitar so maybe I shouldn't say anything because it doesn't make me special."

J-14 totally gets it... we love Rob Pattinson and want nothing more than to see him up close and personal. But with the immediacy of the web these days (especially real-time updates on sites like Twitter), the level of fan frenzy has been taken to a whole new level.
Twilight and Rob fans now have the chance to know where he is at all times -- giving everyone a new way to get to know their favorite star. But fans have been rushing out to these locations in masses, often causing security issues.
And just hours ago, Rob was grazed in the hip by a New York City cab as he was trying to escape from a huge group of fans. He had five bodyguards with him... yet, still ended up having a close call.
J-14 is all about reporting the latest Rob news as soon as we hear it, but we will never give you the exact location for security reasons. (Case in point: We once knew the exact spot Rob was at near a park in New York City, but instead of naming the exact park, we said he was at at "a park"... and there are 1,700 parks in New York.)
So please sign this electronic petition below to Protect Rob Pattinson! We know, we wish we could spend every moment with Rob -- and knowing where he is at all times definitely makes it feel that way... but there is a point where it goes too far.
Let's all bond together to protect Rob. It's cool to report where he is and what he's doing -- but only to a certain point. Be careful what details you give out... and if you do end up going to try to catch a glimpse of Rob, be respectful of his privacy and security.
Edward Cullen saved Bella Swan from an almost tragic car accident, and now J-14 wants to ban all of the Twilight and Rob fans together to do it for Rob.
Keep Rob Pattinson safe! Spread the word... RT... forward to your friends... this is the kind of message we need to be spreading online. For Rob's sake.

Edward Cullen may have been able to save Bella Swan from a car accident -- but Twilight star Rob Pattinson is definitely not immune to them in real life.
Reports just surfaced that Rob was "clipped" by a taxi cab just a few hours ago (around noon ET) in front of Strand Bookstore in New York City.
Rob was inside a building working on his next film, Remember Me. Fans have been engulfing him on the streets ever since he started working on location in NYC -- and today was no different. Rob was walking to his trailer, with five security guards protecting him.
But the fan frenzy got out of hand, and Rob rushed across the street... just as a cab was driving by. The driver stepped on his brakes as soon as he realized what was happening. Rob was grazed at the hip... and looked shocked. A bodyguard shouted out to the crowd, "You see what you did, you almost killed him!"
Don't fear... Rob is okay. But the fan craze is definitely getting out of hand with blogs posting and spreading his every move in real time online, especially through Twitter... please be careful and keep our Robby P. safe! (And sign our Protect Rob Pattinson petition!)

UPDATE: 6/18 4:07 p.m.: Summit Entertainment (the studio behind Twilight and Remember Me) released an official statement: "Robert Pattinson is fine. The reports are exaggerated, and the accident was not caused by fans. Production continues."

Taylor Lautner is making Twilight fans a promise -- The Twilight Saga: New Moon is definitely going to one-up the original Twilight. In this Access Hollywood interview, he reveals, "The fans need to know that New Moon is going to be stepped up a whole other notch -- and I can guarantee you that!"
And what does Kristen Stewart have to say about working with Taylor more in the sequel? "I love Taylor -- he's my friend," she says. "It's so weird to talk in interviews about your friends. But he's stepped up in a way that I think out of anybody that has anything to do with this movie is the most impressive transformation, which is funny because he's supposed to undergo a transformation in the movie anyway -- but he did it in his real life. And it's so cool to see that."
