The Stars Mourn Michael Jackson

MichaelJackson.jpg
Since Michael Jackson's death yesterday, celebrities and fans have come together on their blogs, on television and through Twitter to celebrate the life of the King of Pop with pictures, memories, and the promise to keep his music alive.

Young celebs like Selena, Demi, Debby, and Keke used their goodnight Tweets to send love and prayers to the Jackson family, while others, like Kid Cudi, dedicated their recording session or shows that night to Michael. BowWow, appearing on MuchMusic in Toronto admitted, "I don't even feel like performing" when he heard the news. Pink dedicated last night's Sydney, Australia Funhouse concert to Michael Jackson -- her dancers and band busted out MJ's moves and did the moonwalk on stage!

Musicians of all genres have been sharing the impact Michael Jackson has had on their careers. Aly and AJ commented, "as sisters and artists we have a huge admiration and respect for him. MJ greatly influenced our music." David Archuleta admitted, "ah, I can't get over MJ. I know everyone's talking about it but he deserves the respect. I hope people will appreciate what he's done." Miley Tweeted simply, "Michael Jackson was my inspiration." Britney Spears, who did a duet with Michael in 2001, was ready to go see him on tour. "He has been an inspiration throughout my entire life," Britney said, "I'm devastated he's gone!" Will.I.Am, of the Black Eyed Peas, was working with Michael on his new album. "I am so grateful to have worked with the King," he shared. "He was a gift to the world." Sean Kingston stopped by the J-14 offices today -- watch his video tribute to Michael Jackson below:

Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian told fans about meeting the star. Paris posted a picture of herself with the King of Pop and Tweeted everyone, "Be good and true. Enjoy every moment like it's your last." Kim told her Twitter followers that she was looking at pictures from her 14th birthday party at MJ's Neverland Ranch! Sharing his favorite of the star's music videos, Corbin Bleu spilled, "I'll never forget when I first saw 'Smooth.' It was real cinema."

Throughout the weekend, MTV is hosting a Michael Jackson Tribute with back-to-back music videos and live performances. Today at 6PM ET, they will premiere A Celebration of Michael Jackson on MTV, featuring the performer's greatest moments on the network and messages from other artists, and at 7PM, they'll re-air an episode of America's Best Dance Crew that featured Michael Jackson's music. On Monday June 29, FOX is re-airing the American Idol performance show from this past season where the Top 13 contestants, including favorites Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, sang the King of Pop's hits.

We encourage everyone to share your favorite Michael Jackson songs, memories, or tell us what the King of Pop meant to you -- comment below!

Q&A with Bow Wow

bowwow1.jpg

J-14 got to hang out with Bow Wow at his Planet Hollywood handprint ceremony in NYC's Times Square, and we got the scoop on the rapper's latest album, New Jack City II, and about meeting the Obamas!

J-14: How is New Jack City Part II different from your previous albums?
Bow Wow: Totally different -- quality-wise, diversity, creatively, and just taking it to the new level. Any album that I do -- not only with me but anybody in this profession -- you always want to make sure that your latest material is better than your last, and that's with any profession.

J-14: What's your favorite track off the album?
Bow Wow: "Big Time." Love it! [It's with] me, Nelly and Ron Browz, who is so hot right now in New York. He's killing it with all the hot records he's on, so that's my favorite record. It's going to huge in the summer time. Watch what I tell you! It's going to be a big record!

J-14: What was it like filming the upcoming movie, Hurricane Season?"
Bow Wow: I had a lot of fun living in New Orleans for three months. I love the city of New Orleans, and for me to costar with Forest Whitaker and Taraji P. Henson, who was nominated [for an Oscar], means a lot to me. It's crazy, just being here and seeing all this stuff and looking back and seeing how all the hard work has paid off really just makes me be appreciative and blessed for what I got, and I couldn't have done it by myself. Thanks to all my fans and everybody, but this is hot.

J-14: What was it like to meet Sasha and Malia Obama at the Kids Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C.?
Bow Wow: They're just regular girls that live in the neighborhood, that go to elementary school or middle school -- just real sweet girls who are real humble. I had a chance to meet the first lady as well -- beautiful, beautiful, beautiful person. She loved Roll Bounce -- that's what she told me, so that mean's a lot to me. You just never know how far your work really reaches, and for my work to reach the White House is just amazing.

J-14: Are there are rumors about yourself you want to debunk?
Bow Wow: I guess people think that I'm mean, but I'm not a mean person. I'm real laid-back. I'm a colorful person. I'm a silly person when I'm with my friends or with my homeboys just kicking it, and that's really about it.

Bow Wow's album, New Jack City II, drops March 31.

Meet J-14 Intern Tierney!

Tierney (right) with singer Jesse James!

Hey J-14ers!

I'm Tierney, the J-14 intern and I have so much to tell you guys! I've been having so much fun here and have gotten to do some really cool things so far.

Last week, singer Jessie James came in to the office and I got the chance to hang out with her. It was so weird because I had just seen the movie "Confessions of A Shopaholic" and heard this awesome song, "Blue Jeans." Turns out that it's Jessie's song! We ate pizza, looked at pictures of her adorable dog and even talked about our major crush on Robert Pattinson! I even found out she's a huge fan of J-14! She even knew our embarrassing moments rating scale, which she called the "girl with the pony-tail!" How cool is that?

On Monday, I got to meet Evan Taubenfeld, who used to be Avril Lavigne's lead guitarist. He came in to the office to play some of his new songs for us and he was so good! I loved his song "Boy Meets Girl." Did you know his younger brother, Drew, is in Demi Lovato's band? Talk about a talented family!

Also on Monday, I took a field trip into NYC with J-14 Editor, Emily. We went to Planet Hollywood in Times Square where Bow Wow was having his official hand print ceremony. Emily was cool enough to let me interview Bow Wow! I was so nervous because it was my first big celebrity interview, but Bow Wow was so nice and told me "he'd take it easy on me!" He was such a nice guy and had the cutest smile I've ever seen. We talked about his new album, New Jack City Part II, meeting Sasha and Malia and how he likes acting better than singing!

I've had such an amazing experience here at J-14! Every day just gets better and better! If you guys have any questions feel free to ask, I'd love to hear from you!

J-14 Hangs With Bow Wow

J-14 hung out with Bow Wow today at his official hand print ceremony at Planet Hollywood in NYC's Times Square! The video for his newest single, "You Can Get It All" hit MTV today, and he let J-14 in on the secrets behind the song. "On the internet, I'm looked at like I'm with a different girl every week," Bow Wow explains to J-14. "That could make it hard for a guy like me to try and get a girl 'cause she doesn't know if I'm going to cheat or if I'm going to play her or what because of what she's reading or hearing on blogs and stuff like that. So "You Can Get It All" is really just about me convincing her and telling her, "Yo, if you're with me, just know that there's no limit to what I'll do for you. If you're my girl then you can get it all." There's no asking -- it's done. That's how it has to be." The track is off Bow Wow's sixth album, New Jack City II, which drops March 31.
