Gloriana is having a very busy summer. Besides touring with Taylor Swift on the Fearless tour, the country band is playing their own shows across America! We caught up with the female half of Gloriana, Rachel Reinert and Cheyenne Kimball (yup, the sweet singer from the MTV reality show a few years back!) in between their busy schedule - they were stopping home in Nashville to do laundry before leaving for another tour stop! Read on to find out what treats they make backstage with Taylor, and what Twilight team they're on!
J-14: How are things on the Fearless tour?
Rachel & Cheyenne: Everything has been an absolute dream come true! From day one with Taylor, she has gone above and beyond what any headlining act will ever do for an opening act. She welcomed us with open arms. Sometimes after the shows she'll have really cool parties and we'll do bonfires and make S'mores! She included us in her encore and in her webisodes, and we're all just a big group of friends having a blast. When we're not doing the Taylor dates we're doing fairs and festivals and on the weekdays, before Taylor's shows we're going to local high schools and playing for the kids during lunch. So we're just extremely busy and touring up until around Thanksgiving time.
J-14: What are the fans like on tour?
Rachel: They are so great! The majority of them are girls and they're so excited to be there that you just feed off of their energy. When they come to see Taylor, it makes their entire year and it's so cool to see that. We do a meet and greet after Kellie Pickler plays, right before Taylor's show, and they come up and they're freaking out to meet us and it's just like, "wow this is so special, to have such great fans already!" They're so sweet! We love them to death and it's so fun to meet every one of them.
J-14: What is it like having two girls and two guys in the band? Are you guys like brothers and sisters?
Cheyenne: We're all like one big family. I mean, the guys are already brothers, but Rachel and I tell each other all the time, we don't know how we'd do it without each other because we're experiencing the same things and its just so nice to have a girl to turn to that completely understands. It's a huge growing experience for all of us.
J-14: I was reading your Twitter, and you guys write back to so many people! Do you message everyone that Tweets you?
Rachel & Cheyenne: It would be nearly impossible to get to everyone but the vast majority of them, yes! On MySpace, Facebook and Twitter, we really try to connect with everyone, talk to them, and answer their questions. One of the cool things about following us on Twitter is that you're almost guaranteed to get something cool from us. We've been giving out signed plaques and tickets to the Taylor Swift concert on Twitter.
J-14: I feel like Twilight would be the best book series to escape to when you're on tour - are you guys fans?
Cheyenne: I was a huge fanatic of the books! I read them religiously and when the movie came out, I about died, like, I had a heart attack. I loved the movie and I love Robert Pattinson! He is a dream boat.
J-14: He's the dreamiest! So you're team Edward?
Cheyenne: Oh yeah!
J-14: Rachel, what about you, are you into it at all?
Rachel: I have the first book and I still have to get around to reading it. I've seen the movie and I really liked it. Cheyenne is definitely more of a fanatic than I am. But I'm sure that once I do get around to reading this book that I'm gonna be absolutely obsessed.
