Geeking Out Over Greek's Return!

Greek.jpg

Hey J-14ers,

ABC Family's Greek is back for a new semester, and I couldn't be more excited! When last night's season 4 premiere started off with the ZBZ sisters burying something suspicious in the woods, clad in fairy tale princess attire, I knew it was going to be an interesting episode -- and I was not disappointed!

Cyprus-Rhodes University is the type of college that anyone would want to go to. Between relationship drama, friendship betrayals, and yes, even arson, there's never a dull moment! Reunited couple Cappie and Casey already went through a rough patch last night but resolution wasn't far away after they had a much-needed talk. Good thing, because I'm so happy they got back together -- I was never really a fan of Casey's ex, Omega Chi president Evan!

But that wasn't the only drama! Rebecca and Evan continue down a very bumpy road declaring that they're just friends until they almost kiss -- but then Rebecca spots Evan staring at Cappie and Casey across the dance floor! Ouch. Calvin and Grant find love though I predict much more conflict with them in the future. Ashleigh still can't find a good guy, and Rusty beat Dale for a scholarship (awkward for those roomies!).

And did I mention that the ZBZ's found out that they were guilty for lighting a candle that burnt down the Gamma Psi house? And the semester has only just begun! Will the ZBZ's get caught for setting the Gamma Psi's house on fire? Secrets don't last long at this chool (especially since Casey lost her tiara in the woods while discarding the arson evidence!)

I can't wait for next week's episode!

Tell me - are you guys tuning in to Greek?

Are Casey and Cappie finally going to be together... again?

CappieCaseyGreek.jpg

Hey J-14ers!

I'll admit it - I'm obsessed. I don't just catch Greek every week, I DVR it so I can rewatch ibecause there's nothing better than Ashleigh's crazy fashions, Rusty's 'can't-catch-a-break' girl drama, or the Cappie-Casey-Evan love triangle. Plus it's hilarious.

And tonight's mid-season finale, "Friend or Foe," looks so good! I've always been Team Casey & Cappie, so I hope they're officially back together after last week's kiss. And what's up with Cappie and Evan? I definitely spotted cops in the preview which doesn't look promising for their rekindled friendship. As much as I want to find all that out (trust me, I'm so counting down to 9 p.m.!), I'm also really sad because that means no more new episodes of Greek until January!

It's okay though, because High School Musical 3's Olesya Rulin is back for her guest-starring role as one of the Zeta Beta Zeta pledges, and she's choreographing a dance routine for the ZBZ house -- how HSM of her!

Check out the Greek mid-season finale this Monday, November 2, at 9/8 central on ABC Family, then head back to j-14.com and let me know what you think!

Are you as excited to find out about Casey and Cappie as I am?

J-14 hangs with Cobra Starship in NYC

cobraj14.jpg

Hey J-14ers,

New York City is pretty busy right about now, thanks to all the New York Fashion Week happenings going on around town, and this Jersey girl got to see it all first-hand! I hung out at the Caravan event during last evening's Fashion's Night Out extravaganza that took place at stores across NYC.

Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta co-hosted the event, along with All-American Reject's Tyson Ritter, and Gabe even took over the DJ booth for an hour! He told me he didn't think he was a great DJ, but I thought he did a great job! We heard some sweet tunes from the Ting Tings and Cobra (of course!) throughout the night, and who can complain about that? Gabe and I got to catch up again (remember, he was just in the J-14 offices a few weeks ago!) -- turns out Gabe and I went to high school in the same town! I'm always psyched to see Gabe though -- not only do I love their hit single, "Good Girls Go Bad," Gabe's a super nice guy and he used to be the lead singer of one of my fave bands from back in the day, Midtown.

But the night didn't end there! I also saw Greek's Spencer Grammer and Sonny With A Chance's Tiffany Thornton! And at the end of the night, I ran into one of my fave singers, One Tree Hill's Kate Voegele, who was wearing the cutest red dress with a little bubble hem. I last saw her play at Highline Ballroom back in May, and she told me she was just in town for Fashion Week, but she'll be back in NYC this fall on another tour.

It was a night full of fun, sweet music and fashion, and awesome tour news. Plus, I got a sweet prize signed just by Gabe for a lucky winner -- but you'll have to wait for an upcoming issue to get the deets on that! ;)

What do you think of Cobra Starship and lead singer Gabe? Are you into "Good Girls Go Bad?" And what fashions are you psyched for this fall?

I got a super cute dark pink scarf with black peace signs on it for Christmas last year. What colors on a shirt or tank would match a scarf like that?

- Nava Melody, Yekita, OK

Hi Nava Melody!

Black and pink are pretty bold colors! Try to match it with different shades of pink, grey, or silver. Be sure the scarf is your boldest piece you have on!

<3,
Amber

What do you think of Amber's advice? What do you like to match your scarves with? What's your fave scarf look like?

Exclusive Q&A with Greek's Scott Michael Foster!

ScottMichaelFoster.jpg

Scott Michael Foster plays the always scheming Cappie on ABC Family's Greek, the Kappa Tau president known for his many majors and tons of hilarious plans -- plus he's quite the girl magnet! J-14 talked to Scott about the upcoming season of Greek will be like, his old co-star Jesse McCartney, and what he really thinks about his castmates! Look for even more of Scott when Season 3 of Greek premieres on Monday, August 31, on ABC Family!

J-14: What can we expect in Season 3 of Greek?
Scott Michael Foster:
Without giving too much away, we left off [season 2] with the end of the world party, and so it's the whole Cappie and Casey thing -- what's gonna happen there. Cappie was on top of the roof wondering what he should do. We literally pick up right where we left off, and it's the next day. There's things that you have to do to figure out what you want, and so that sort of starts off the whole season. It's definitely going to be a lot of fun, and we're touching on some new stuff. We're going to expand on Cappie being in a secret society and his relationship with Casey, so you'll see a lot more of that. You'll find out about Dale -- he has to struggle with his religion for awhile, like some college students do. That's actually a really cool story line.

J-14: Do you still keep in touch with Jesse McCartney, who guest-starred on Greek last season?
Scott:
We were hanging out shortly after he got done with his stint. I went to go see a couple of this shows, and we went and played pool with some other castmates. It was a lot of fun, but I know he's busy right now, so I haven't actually talked to him in awhile!

>J-14: What is your favorite behind-the-scenes memory from the show?
Scott:
There's so many, it's hard to just pick! It's like going to college without the schoolwork, so you can imagine what that's like. It's so funny to go back when they make little blooper reels of the season and behind the scenes stuff. Those scenes they show in the DVD, that's exactly what it's like. It's a lot of fun. I can't even think of one thing.

J-14: Have you gotten into Twitter?
Scott:
I have actually never been on Twitter. It's just like public IM site, right? I've heard it's the next big thing. There's like eight Scott Michael Foster Facebook pages, and I don't know how they do it, but a lot of people think so many of those sites are me. I'm like "Nope, that's not me!' Some are fans, and then some are actually impersonating me. It's weird to look on and see that other people are pretending to be you!

Let's play word association with your castmates. Jacob Zachar.
Scott:
Gangster.
J-14: Spencer Grammer.
Scott: Sweetheart.
J-14: Paul James.
Scott: Pranskter.
J-14: Jake McDorman.
Scott: It's not one word, but pool hustler who always beats me!
J-14: Amber Stevens.
Scott: Singing.
J-14: Clark Duke.
Scott: Comedian.
J-14: Dilshad Vadsaria.
Scott: Rebecca because that's her character's name. She's really not [like her character]. She's actually very smart, mature, and well put-together.

School uniforms and dress codes are no fun when all you want to do is look unique! J-14 reader Ariana is totally dealing with that right now, and we bet a lot of you are figuring out how you can look stylish at school despite all those rules, too! Luckily Greek's Amber Stevens, J-14's fashion guru, is here to teach you some style tricksshe learned back in her H.S. days when dealing with the same probs! Check out her advice below, and don't forget to check back next week for her last piece of fashion advice (tear!).

Hi Amber!

I am going to high school, and we can't add colored shoelaces, headbands, or flats to our school uniforms. What should I do to look unique but not break the rules?

- Ariana

Ariana, try some fun hairstyles and colorful make-up. Also, if jewelry is allowed, find a bold watch and some cute studded earrings. Stay subtle though -- no need to go overboard to just stand out!

<3,
Amber

What do you do to dress up a school uniform but not break the rules? What are your fave ways to look unique at school but still work with your school's dress codes?

AmberWeek6.jpg

Finding clothes that fit your personality isn't always as easy as it seems -- sometimes it even leads to a total style rut. Greek's Amber Stevens gets to wear clothes that fit two different types of girls -- her own sweet style and the funky fashions of her character Ashleigh. And as J-14's style expert, she was so the right person to help Kimberly figure out her dilemma. Amber''s got some awesome tips below, and she'll be back next Friday with another installment of her fashion q & a!

Hey Amber!

Most people think I'm "emo" when they first meet me because I only wear black, but I'm not! Now I want to get a more girly look. I went shopping with my mom and found a baby blue top and skinny jeans. Is that a good start? What else can I do to look "girly" but still feel like me?

- Kimberly

Kimberly -

I think a baby blue top and skinny jeans are a great start -- kinny jeans are essential! Put on a cool scarf over your t-shirt to add some pizzaz. A fun blazer or leather jacket look great layered over a t-shirt! I can't live without my leather jacket -- it's be best way to dress up a plain outfit. And instead of sticking to just t-shirts, try other types of tops like an empire waist top.

<3,
Amber>

What do you think of Amber's advice? Are you a fan of layering? What do you do when you want to change up your look?

Who doesn't want to wear the hottest trends? Sometimes they're super cute but tough to wear if you're not a really specific body type. That's where J-14's helpful fashionista, Greek's Amber Stevens, comes in! She's got some great advice for curvier girls! Her tips for Becca Lynn are below, but then check in next Friday for more stylish ideas from Amber!

Don't forget, Season 3 of Greek premieres August 31 on ABC Family -- wonder what cute clothes Amber's character Ashleigh will get to wear!

Hi Amber!

I'm kinda big on top and in the middle. What cute clothes would make me look a little smaller but fit my shape?

- Becca Lynn

Becca Lynn -

Try triangle shaped tops! They will give the illusion of a smaller waistline. Wearing flared pants is always a good way to go. Also, empire waist dresses with leggings look great on any shape!

<3,
Amber

What do you think of Amber's advice? Do you have the same problem as Becca Lynn? What are your fave clothes to accentuate - not hide! - your shape?

What girl doesn't love shoes? J-14 reader Kristine loves the pair she just bought, but she's got to match them with something. Cue J-14's sylista, Greek's Amber Stevens! As usual, she's got some awesome tips for all of you! Check out her answer to Kristine's dilemma below, then check in next Friday for a brand new tip from the Greek gal!

Hi Amber -

I bought cute wedges but I don't know what to wear with them. Help!

- Kristine

Hey Kristine!

Wedges are great cause they can really be worn with anything. If you have wide-legged pants that are a little on the long side, slip on your wedges. Or you could wear them with a sundress when it's warmer out. Jumpers are back in style now, and those look great with wedges.

<3,
Amber

What do you think of Amber's advice? What do you pair your wedges with? Are you into the jumper look? What are your fave shoes to wear this summer?

spencer_lc_amber.jpg

J-14 loves the fact that Greek's Amber Stevens is answering all of your fashion questions. She's got some sweet style helpers to back up her tips, like Greek's stylist, Mandy -- she puts outfits together for Amber's character, Ashleigh. "She's really funny and cool and most of the time, my costume for the scene is something Mandy is wearing to work that day!" Amber tells J-14. "She'll coordinate and say, 'Oh I own that, I'll wear that the same day to work so we're matching.' So I basically wear everything she wears." Amber also got to meet fashionista Lauren Conrad from The Hills when LC guest starred alongside Amber and Spencer Grammer in the season two finale.

Since Amber's got so many fashionable people in her life -- and she's quite stylish herself --- Amber was able to give Amanda great advice on changing up her style. Check out her tips below, and look for her next fashion q & a next Friday!

I have the problem of always wearing the same style, but when I try to change it up a little bit, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. I like the preppy style I have, but people always tell me to change it. In some ways, I can't! What do I do?

- Amanda, FL

Hey Amanda -

Stick with the style you love! It can be hard to go outside of your comfort zone, so start small and try new accessories. Add some hair ornaments or wear long necklaces and hoop earrings. Changing the colors of your clothes could help, too, but be sure to tell your friends to buy you new clothes if they want to see you in something else so badly!

Amber

What do you think of Amber's advice? What do you do when you're stuck in a fashion rut? Have you ever tried to change up a preppy style? Do you follow just one fashion trend?

Hi Amber!

I really need your help. There's a dress-up night at camp, and my crush is gonna be there. I don't want to go all dressed up, but I don't want to look like I don't care either. I was going to wear some cute flats, leggings, a skirt, and a rockin' tee shirt! Would you change add anything change something up?

- Paige

Paige, I love your idea for an outfit. If you're looking for a different idea, maybe wear the leggings with a cute dress, a waist-belt, and some fun jewelry. It's a little more dressed up, but it will still be fun and casual with flats!

<3,
Amber

What would you wear to your camp social? Do you like the dress and leggings look? What advice would you give Paige?

Q&A with Amber Stevens

amberj14.jpg

J-14 hung out with Greek's Amber Stevens in Los Angeles, where she dished all about her character, on set pranks, her fave episode, and more.

J-14: How are you like Ashleigh in real life?
Amber: Ashleigh loves to socialize and have fun. She's boy crazy and positive all the time, and I find myself very similar to that. I'm not as much of a party animal. I'm a little more intelligent than Ashleigh. I'm not as big of an airhead! She's real silly and isn't a leader, which is what's fun now because she's been given this leading role as President and has to figure out how to make that work. I've always been the leader. I was in student council. I was the president of my high school.

J-14: How has Ashleigh changed since the start of Greek?
Amber: Making her President of ZBZ has opened up a whole new world. They're trying to challenge her, see if she can pull off being President. So far she's completely oblivious to what's going on and her duties. She's used to being social chair and taking care of parties so now she's got more responsibility. She has a guy, Fisher, and she doesn't know how to balance being President and keeping her relationship a secret. Ultimately, she's just there to have fun and be a BFF to Casey.

J-14: Is it weird to kiss a guy with all the cameras around you?
Amber: It's awkward! The first time I had to kiss someone on the show was Paul [Calvin]. That was extremely weird because we're friends, so it's like making out with your friend! Kissing Andy, who plays Fischer, was awkward because it was the first day we met. He shot all the scenes for the first episode he was in during one day. I met him during the table, read and it was like, "Hi, nice to meet you. I'll be playing your new boyfriend." Then I saw him a week later, and they were like, "You guys have to grab each other and go for it!"

J-14: Are there pranks on set?
Amber: Paul is the king of pranks. Paul and Sarah, who is our head make up artist. Every single day they do something to someone, even small things where they print out pictures and put your face on it. They stole Jake's [who plays Evan] car once and moved it!

J-14: What was your favorite episode to film?
Amber: There's a funny episode where Fisher has a lot of Cyprus-Rhodes team spirit -- he's one of those guys who paints himself at a football game. Ashleigh is completely mortified by it. She thinks it's so dorky, but he's really hot, so she's torn between his really dorky side and his sexy side. I think it's cute, so I accept him for his weirdness. That was a fun episode.

Greek's Amber Stevens Talks Twilight

amberj14.jpg

When J-14 hung out with Greek's Amber Stevens, she was only on page 16 of Twilight! "I'm not that far, so I have a lot to go. It's a big thing! My friends just recently finished it, and they're like, 'It's awesome.' I bought the book before the movie came out -- it's just been sitting on my shelf. I haven't seen the movie because I wanted to read the book first, so I finally finished the other book I was reading, Something Blue."

Have you only read the books and not seen the movie yet? Or did your friends convince you to read the series? Let J-14 know what got you hooked on Twilight -- after all, Amber needs to know if she should be Team Rob or Team Jacob!

J-14 Hangs With "Greek's" Amber Stevens

J-14 was psyched to meet up with Greek's Amber Stevens out in Los Angeles, and not just because we talked about her character, Ashley, or the awesome, bold clothes she gets to wear on the show -- we had some major girl talk about boys, too! And lucky for Greek fans, she gave us some good news about ZBZ's hasher, Fisher -- who Amber just happens to lock lips with on the show. "He'll stick around for awhile," Amber dishes. "He's very, very cute." Sweet! Stay tuned for an exclusive Q & A with Amber, but for now, check out this video she made just for J-14 readers! Greek airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.

Q&A with Spencer Grammer

spencer.jpg

J-14 hung out with Greek star Spencer Grammer in New York City where she spilled about the show's guest stars (including Jesse McCartney and Lauren Conrad!), mean girls, and Rob Pattinson!

J-14: Last season ended with your character Casey dreaming about Lauren Conrad from The Hills -- what was it like having her on the show?
Spencer: She did such a great job and learned her lines really well. She was like, "I'm kind of nervous about learning the lines." But she did great! She should totally be an actress -- she was awesome! I've seen her a few times out and she's always so gracious and wonderful -- and gives big hugs! She's not in this current season, but we're shooting another 20 episodes, so L.C. might be back!

J-14: And Jesse McCartney is on the show now -- what's he been like?
Spencer: He's a big star. His music is huge! He wrote "Bleeding Love." Isn't that crazy? He's just unbelievably talented to be able to do all of the things that he does. On set, he was super cool and chill. I didn't have any scenes with him unfortunately because he's in the boys' storyline. He plays a rushee that all of the fraternities are trying to recruit.

J-14: Did you ever have to deal with mean girls in school, the same way Casey has to deal with in the sorority?
Spencer: Of course I did. Girls would always say mean things about me and call me different names because I've always been a tomboy -- I'd play football with the boys during lunch and girls don't like that at all! But I was always active like I've always been like that. I surf and snowboard -- that's just who I am. You just pretend they don't say anything mean about you. Words can never hurt me! So you just let it roll off. People who talk meanly about you are bored. Why waste your time?

J-14: Greek took the timeslot back of The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Do the casts hang out?
Spencer: I've been at the same party as the cast, but haven't officially introduced myself and they haven't really introduced themselves to me. You know where you do that dance? But we should have a big party together. I think they shoot on the same lot as us but we never like get out of the basement. We literally shoot in this basement that used to be a parking garage -- and we're stuck in this basement like the world doesn't exist outside of there. It's like dark and there aren't any windows. That's where we live for like six months a year!

J-14: Finally, random question: Twilight or Harry Potter?
Spencer: I'm a Harry Potter fan -- books and movie. [Rob Pattinson] was cute in them but then his character died. It was sad. But he looks unreal because he's so attractive. He's almost not human -- he's so beautiful! He was so well cast as Cedric Diggory and now Twilight -- everyone's obsessed with him! I haven't read all the Twilight books -- I sort of read the first book. I love Kristen Stewart -- she's great. I always thought she was a really talented actress. I saw her in an indie film before Into The Wild. I'm watching it and I'm like, "Oh, she's going to be a big star -- who is she?" And now here she is -- she's in Twilight!

Watch her shout out video here!

Q&A with Scott Michael Foster

cappie.jpg

J-14 chatted exclusively with Scott Michael Foster who plays Cappie on the ABC Family show Greek. Read on to get the scoop on the new episodes that start back on March 30 (including deets on a new pledge played by Jesse McCartney!).

J-14: Where do the new episode of Greek pick up?
Scott: We left off at the end of freshman year for Rusty, and we pick up the beginning of his sophomore year, and he's going to be a big brother to a pledge. It's the new school year for everyone. Cappie helps him deal with the fact that's he's gone from a pledge taking all the orders to being a responsible, older brother. You're also going to see things happen with Evan and Cappie -- they're going to have some things to talk about so that's exciting for us. Our characters didn't get to do much in the last season and half, so it's exciting for us to work together.

J-14: Is it safe to say Casey is what they're talking about?
Scott: There're a lot of things that they're going to talk about. I'll give you that. It's a cool, fun twist for the season.

J-14: How has Cappie changed now that he's going into his senior year?
Scott: He's confident and comfortable because he knows he's going to be there for a while. He's not going anywhere. He wants to study as much as possible. He'll try every major and he's going to try and stay in school as long as he can. He's like Van Wilder -- seriously, he has no intentions of leaving.

J-14: What is your favorite part about playing Cappie?
Scott: The character has a lot of parties -- and shooting parties is a lot of fun. I never have to deal with anything heavily dramatic unless it's a love situation. I'm always in good spirits, having fun. It's awesome to play a character that's happy.

J-14: Speaking of the love interests, is there anything we can look forward to with Cappie in these episodes?
Scott: Absolutely. I don't want to give anything away, but you're going to see him realize that he was with one girl for so long. Now he's going to try and get back in the game. He finds someone that he used to have a crush on when he was a freshman and she was a senior at Zeta Beta. He wants to go on a date with her and for some reason, he can't land it. You'll see him level through some different girl scenarios. And of course, he still loves Casey, but who knows what will happen.

J-14: What was it like have Jesse McCartney join the cast?
Scott: He is awesome. We hit it off really well. I went to go see his show at the House of Blues [in LA]. He really knows what he's doing, and it was a pleasure to have him on.
