J-14's
Hatching Pete Countdown!
In honor of Disney Channel's
Hatching Pete April 24th premiere, J-14's giving fans an inside look at the characters and behind-the-scenes secrets straight from the cast!
We sat down with Tiffany Thornton on the
Hatching Pete set and chatted about her character, cheerleading, her favorite scenes to film, and more!
J-14: Can you tell us about your character in Hatching Pete?
Tiffany: I play Jamie Wynn, the head cheerleader. She has a crush on Poole because he's the chicken and becomes really funny. She thinks she has to be with the funny person who's popular. She starts flirting with Poole in class and the next thing you know, they're pretty much together.
J-14: Were you a cheerleader?
Tiffany: I was a cheerleader all through junior high and high school, but I would never date someone just for popularity purposes! I actually have to like the person a whole lot to invest time into a relationship, but it's always cute to be the cheerleader/whoever-the-big-guy is couple. I think deep down a lot of times girls wish for that, but it takes a lot more work than it looks like in a movie. Boys are tough! I do relate to Jamie since I was a cheerleader in high school. I had a great time doing all that kind of stuff. It's fun to be able to do it again in the movie.
J-14: Which cast members have you bonded with the most?
Tiffany: Mitchel Musso and Jason Dolley are a joy to work with. They're sweethearts and gentlemen. They're so much fun and really make it an enjoyable experience. Josie Lopez is a sweetheart. She's from Florida, and I'm from Texas, so we have that back home thing going on. I've known her for a while, and she's amazingly talented. The person I bonded with most is Madison Riley who plays Camie, Mitchel Musso's sister. She is seriously the most hilarious person.
J-14: What was it like filming in a real high school with kids everywhere?
Tiffany: At first nobody really knew who we were, so they were a little confused. Now they've caught on. One day when we were shooting, the girls went nuts over Jason and Mitchel. I walked out of the set and towards our chair rack -- where they have our names on the chairs -- and there were girls out there taking pictures of Jason's chair. They just wait out there and are like, "They're coming back from lunch soon!" They're big fans. I think that's adorable!
J-14: What was your favorite scene to film?
Tiffany: I have two. My first is when we get to do the stunt scene, where we're up in the air. I have dreams about stunting because I haven't done it in so long. To be able to do that now is so much fun because I get to live out my dream. It was scary because you're up there, and you have to wobble around and look like you're falling. There's another scene where we're in the science room and I'm sitting next to Jason's character, Pete, and Mitchel comes in the room. Everyone's talking about the chicken. Jason is sitting next to me, and Jamie needs Pete to move. So I pick up his books, put them in his lap, and push him out. Then Poole comes in and sits next to me, and I flirt with him. There's a part where I hit him on the end of his nose with my eraser on my pencil. I was just joking around and did it once, and our director was like, "I like that," and I was like, "Okay, I'll keep flirting with an eraser!" It was a cute scene because I push Pete out of the way completely and then clear the space for Poole.
