Julianne Hough is Chace Crawford's new leading lady!

chacejulianne.jpg

Chace Crawford finally has a new leading lady! Country singer and Dancing With The Stars' alum Julianne Hough reportedly beat out Hayden Panettiere for the chance to star in the remake of Footloose along side the Gossip Girl hottie. Rumors flew that Hairspray's Amanda Bynes and Miley Cyrus were also being considered for the role at one point. But there is one small catch to the exciting news -- Julianne will only be in the movie if her schedule permits.

Chace jumped at the chance to play Ren McCormack (played by Kevin Bacon in the 1984 original) after Zac Efron dropped out of the flick in March. And with HSM's Kenny Ortega directing the flick, Chace is already learning exactly how Zac and Vanessa Hudgens felt after all their dance routines! "I've started prep for [Footloose, and I'm extremely sore... It's really intense," Chace explains. "We're getting the gymnastics and doing some workouts. I'm learning some basic moves. I've got a little rhythm. I'm realizing everyday how much of all the nine months [of prep] I'm going to need."

Footloose is expected to hit theaters in June 2010. Tell us -- have you seen the original Footloose? Are you excited for the remake? How do you think Chace will do once he straps on those dancing shoes?

Q&A with Drew Seeley

DrewSeeleyWeb.jpg

J-14 caught up with Another Cinderella Story star Drew Seeley who is currently playing Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid on Broadway through August 30.

He chatted with us about his opening night, working with Selena Gomez, and which High School Musical cast members he still keeps in touch with (remember, he went on tour with the HSM crew as Troy Bolton!).

J-14: How did you land the role of Prince Eric?
Drew: I've been working with Disney for a number of years, but I've never worked with them on Broadway. When the opportunity to audition came up, I came right to New York, I auditioned and met the whole creative team. Then about two weeks later I got a call and they said, "Yeah! Let's do it!"

J-14: What was opening night of The Little Mermaid like?
Drew: It couldn't have been more perfect. My parents, my drama teacher from high school, and a lot of my best friends were there. Everybody came out to support me. The cast made me feel welcome right away and everybody has been awesome. It's going to be a great summer -- I'm really excited!

J-14: We hear there was a huge crowd of fans waiting for you when you left the stage door -- what was that like?
Drew: It was crazy! I was like, "Are the Jonas Brothers here? What's going on?" It was great!

J-14: Selena Gomez said that you were her favorite co-star of all time. What was it like working with her in Another Cinderella Story?
Drew: She's such a sweetheart and always a professional. It was funny when we first started working together because she had experience being on set from Wizards of Waverly Place and I had experience with music, so we helped each other out a lot. We learned a lot from each other and we still keep in touch.

J-14: Is there anyone that you still keep in touch with from High School Musical?
Drew: I still talk to Corbin [Bleu] and his band all the time -- those guys are really good friends of mine. And a few weeks ago I shot a few webisodes with Lucas [Grabeel] for a series that's called, I Kissed a Vampire. We both play vampires, but that's all I can say about it. It's going to be released over the summer.

J-14: Speaking of vampires, are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Drew: I'm Team Bella -- she's cute!
