Mitchel Musso's New TV Show

MitchelMusso.jpg

It was just announced that Hannah Montana star Mitchel Musso will star in a new comedy on Disney XD called Pair of Kings. The show also stars Doc Shaw (House of Payne) as 16-year-old fraternal twins -- one white and one black -- living in Chicago with their aunt and uncle. The pair find out that they're heirs to the throne of the island of Kinkou and they move there to become kings!

The boys will start taping the show in March and it's expected to premiere this fall on Disney XD.

But here's the thing: it has not been confirmed officially that Hannah Montana is over. A fourth season of Hannah has been ordered, but there have been tons of rumors floating around that the fourth season will be its last.

Do you think Mitchel's new TV show is a sign that Hannah Montana is over?

Exclusive Q&A with Jimmy Robbins!

JimmyRobbins.jpg
It's safe to say that every heart in the J-14 office melted a little bit when sweet Southern Jimmy Robbins stopped by to play us his hit single "Turn it Up" and give girls a new reason to swoon with his album See Through Secrets (available now on iTunes). Find out what Jimmy thought about touring with Mitchel Musso, who people mistake him for, and more!

J-14: Let's go way back -- how did you become a musician?
Jimmy Robbins: When I was six or seven I found a guitar at my grandma's house and convinced my dad to let me take it home. For a few years I just kind of fiddled with it. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's when I was seven, and she had been getting progressively sick. I didn't choose writing songs -- I just had stuff going on that I didn't talk about, so I started writing. It got to a point where I was like, wow, I can never not do this again!

J-14: Do you remember the first song you ever wrote?
Jimmy: I do! The first song I ever wrote was a love song for a girl. She never heard it, but I'm pretty sure it was terrible.

J-14: You grew up in North Carolina. When you're traveling, do you miss anything about the South?
Jimmy: The one thing that I do miss about the South is that I was raised to always hold the door open for people and just be really nice to people. Out here, I talk to cashiers and stuff everywhere I go and they seem really surprised -- and sometimes not excited. That's different!

J-14: So you're an old school Southern gentleman?
Jimmy: For my Dad's sake, I hope so. He would be upset if I wasn't. I'm still the guy that walks around and open's a girl's car door. And I guess that's not all that often that people do that, people are weirded out by that!

J14: What is it like touring with Mitchel Musso?
Jimmy: It's been great -- he has the coolest fans. They're all really nice and very excitable which is awesome. That's the best feeling when people are excited about what you're doing. Backstage gets pretty crazy because he has the acting as well, so there's a lot going on. Mitchel and I just hang out a lot -- it's been cool.

J14: What has been your weirdest fan experience since touring?
Jimmy: I think it's just weird that people care who I am. Sometimes people think I'm someone that I'm not in Los Angeles. Last week I got asked if I was Zac Efron three times. It's just like, "No, I'm not... I can pretend to be if you want a picture or something."

Watch Jimmy sing "Turn it Up" -- just for J-14!

Miley & Leighton Rock On A Very Special Christmas!

XmasCD.jpg
Hey J-14ers!

Can you believe it? The holidays are right around the corner and just in time: A Very Special Christmas: Volume 7 -- featuring all my favorite artists is coming out November 23! Miley Cyrus, Vanessa Hudgens, Mitchel Musso, Ashley Tisdale, Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler, Sean Kingston, Kristina DeBarge, Colbie Caillat, Leighton Meester, Gloriana, and more make the all-star line up for this compilation of holiday songs. And they don't disappoint!

These definitely aren't your typical Christmas carols, but they'll still totally get you into the holiday spirit and have you singing along! I was excited to hear some of my absolute favorite artists on there like Leighton Meester, Kellie Pickler, and Carrie Underwood! One of the highlights is Colbie Caillat's "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas." Colbie's unique vocals give the song a much needed face-lift, but still hold onto the tune's charm. Miley sings one of my favorite Christmas songs, "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," with a full blast of energy. I would expect no less from her! Sean Kingston's version of "The Little Drummer Boy" mixes up the classic with fun beats and reggae fusion. I also am lovin' Leighton Meester's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)!" The Gossip girl is my pick for new artist to keep an eye on in the new year. And last but not least, Ashley Tisdale's vocals are perfect for the fun holiday song "Last Christmas!"

You know how giving is better than receiving this time of year? Bonus: proceeds from the album benefit The Special Olympics! Since the first Very Special Christmas compilation back in 1987, these Xmas albums have raised more than $100 million for the organization. Talk about Christmas cheer! If you're feeling especially generous this season, this CD is a perfect treat for a friend and yourself ;)! Check out www.veryspecialchristmas.com, help this great cause, and I'll see you rockin' around the Christmas tree this year!

<3 Nicole

Q&A With Shawn Johnson

shawn.jpg

Olympic gold-medal gymnast, Shawn Johnson, who just won season eight of Dancing with the Stars, chatted exclusively with J-14 about her experience on DWTS, her Twilight obsession, rumors about her and Mitchel Musso, and more!

J-14: Do you felt like you found a new side of yourself through this competition?
Shawn: Definitely. I mean I've never done any of this before and none of this is really allowed in gymnastics. It's definitely different. I love doing something new and I've been doing gymnastics my whole life and I've never really had the opportunity to do something different so this is just the best experience ever. I'm learning a lot about myself that I didn't even know. I didn't know I could do that! This is one of the best things I've ever done and most fun things I've ever done.

J-14: How did you end up with your partner, Mark?
Shawn: At the beginning, they pair everybody up and it's a surprise for the professional and the celebrity. So neither of us knew who we had and that's the way it happened with everybody and so you don't find out until the first rehearsal where you walk in. I was really hoping I had him. He was my favorite. Then when I walked in was like, "Yay!" He just seemed really fun and I just kind of had a feeling and you just gotta go with it.

J-14: What was your most embarrassing moment on the show?
Shawn: I tripped down the stairs! The first thing they tell you when you walk down the stairs is not to look down and I made the mistake of looking down and I'm in a long dress so as soon as you look down, your dress grows a little longer in the front and I got caught on my dress, but you know what? I'm clumsy. I accept the fact! I broke the ice for every body else because no one wants to be that first person! I wasn't embarrassed. I was just a little shocked, but Mark caught me!

J-14: We hear you are a big fan of the Twilight series -- are you Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Shawn: It's weird because I read the books before I saw it and I had this like preconceived image of what they looked like and that wasn't anything like it so it was different but I liked it. They played the parts well. I am Team Edward by far! I was not a fan of Jacob. I thought he was ruining the relationship.

J-14: You've been to a few premieres with Mitchel Musso, which has sparked dating rumors. What's the truth?
Shawn: I just don't get how someone could assume that from a picture. We're good friends and he heard I was in town [during the Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience movie premiere] and called to see if I wanted to go! ! I still can't believe I got to go, walk the red carpet and all of that, but it was a lot fun!

Countdown to Hatching Pete - TONIGHT!

jason.jpg

In honor of the April 24 premiere of Disney Channel's Hatching Pete, J-14's giving fans an inside look at the characters and behind-the-scenes secrets straight from the cast! Don't forget to watch Hatching Pete tonight at 8 pm on Disney Channel!

We sat down with Jason Dolley on the Hatching Pete set and talked about his character, favorite scene to film, most embarrassing moment, and more!

J-14: Can you tell us about your character in Hatching Pete?
Jason: Pete is extremely shy. He's best friends with Poole. He gets really nervous around pretty girls and hyperventilates.

J-14: Are you like Pete?
Jason: This is one of the first characters that I'm not similar to. Most of the things Pete wears I wouldn't. Personality-wise, we're completely different, which makes it fun.

J-14: What has it been like to work with Mitchel Musso?
Jason: Mitchel's awesome. I was so excited when I found out I was working with him because I knew him from the Disney Channel games, but we never actually worked together. I knew I was going to have a buddy from the start.

J-14: What was your fave scene to film?

Jason: Anything when I'm in the chicken suit. We did a scene where I was making fun of the coach and messing with the basketball players. They actually put me in one of the cheers! It was really fun.

J-14: Did you have any embarrassing moments on set?
Jason: I trip in the chicken suit all the time when I'm going up stairs -- even just walking around sometimes! It's funny when I sit down, because I have this big tail. I can't really sit anywhere!

Check out J-14's exclusive Q&A with Hatching Pete's Tiffany Thornton and Mitchel Musso.

Countdown To Hatching Pete - 1 day!

hatchpete1.jpg

In honor of the April 24 premiere of Disney Channel's Hatching Pete, J-14's giving fans an inside look at the characters and behind-the-scenes secrets straight from the cast!

We sat down with Josie Loren on the Hatching Pete set and talked about her character, what it was like to kiss Jason Dolley, her most embarrassing on set moment, and more!

J-14: Can you tell us about your character in Hatching Pete?
Josie: Her name is Angela Morrissey and she's the new girl at school. She's cute, popular, and nice. She doesn't have an ego on her. She's not snobby. Even though she's popular -- she's on the cheerleading squad -- she's really nice to the people around her who aren't in her clique, like Pete.

J-14: How do you personally compare to Angela?
Josie: I was always raised not to judge people by their cover, and I do a really good job at that. I have all sorts of friends and give everyone a fair chance. You don't really get to know a person until you sit down and actually talk to them. Their outside doesn't say anything about who they are.

J-14: What was your favorite scene to film?
Josie: My favorite scene to film was the kissing scene and what led up to it. We [the cheerleaders] were in a pyramid, and the pyramid collapses, and I end up falling on top of Jason.

J-14: What was it like kissing Jason?
Josie: Jason made me feel so comfortable, because he's such a nice guy.

J-14: What was the best part about working with Mitchel and Jason?
Josie: The best part about working with Jason is we never get into arguments because he's so nice. Everything is fun. He's a great actor. I really enjoy working off of Jason because he's very real. I don't have a lot of one-on-one scenes with Mitchel, but he's funny. He has a joke up his sleeve all the time. He's making you crack up constantly.

J-14: Did you have any embarrassing moments on set?
Josie: We were cheering and we had our pom poms behind us -- we do this cheer where we put our feet back to kick and jump into the kick, and I slipped on my pom pom and completely fell. The girls started cracking up!

Check out J-14's exclusive Q&A with Hatching Pete's Tiffany Thornton and Mitchel Musso.

mitchel j-14 hatching pete.jpg

In honor of Disney Channel's Hatching Pete April 24 premiere, J-14's giving fans an inside look at the characters and behind-the-scenes secrets straight from the cast!

We sat down with Mitchel Musso on the Hatching Pete set and chatted about his character, favorite scenes and more!

J-14: Can you tell us about your character in Hatching Pete?
Michel: My character is Cleatus Poole. He's kind of nerdy-- just not popular. Poole is the school mascot, and he's awful. Then the school gets a new chicken suit, and he gets allergic to the suit. He asks his friend Pete to take over for him, and Pete's amazing. Poole gets all the fame out of it, and Pete's still a nerd.

J-14: How do you compare to Poole?
Mitchel: I'm not like Poole at all. I never did the high school thing, so it's cool getting to live that. I have a best friend like Poole has his best friend that he always looks up to and asks for advice.

J-14: What was it like to work with Jason Dolley?
Mitchel: He's awesome. Jason and I make a really good team. We get along really well. We can relate.

J-14: What was your favorite scene to film?
Mitchel: My favorites are whenever it's just Jason and I because they're so natural and fun. Also, the scene in the workshop when they're building the float. We have this big walking scene, and the whole scene is shot in one take. It was awesome.

J-14: What was the funniest scene to film?
Mitchel: Anything with Brian Stepanek who plays Arwin on The Suite Life. He improvs the whole time, and it's hard to keep a straight face. He's great.

Check out J-14's exclusive Q&A with Tiffany Thornton here, and check back tomorrow for Jason Dolley's Q&A!

Exclusive Q&A With Hatching Pete's Tiffany Thornton!

tiffhatchingpete.jpg

J-14's Hatching Pete Countdown! In honor of Disney Channel's Hatching Pete April 24th premiere, J-14's giving fans an inside look at the characters and behind-the-scenes secrets straight from the cast!

We sat down with Tiffany Thornton on the Hatching Pete set and chatted about her character, cheerleading, her favorite scenes to film, and more!

J-14: Can you tell us about your character in Hatching Pete?
Tiffany: I play Jamie Wynn, the head cheerleader. She has a crush on Poole because he's the chicken and becomes really funny. She thinks she has to be with the funny person who's popular. She starts flirting with Poole in class and the next thing you know, they're pretty much together.

J-14: Were you a cheerleader?
Tiffany: I was a cheerleader all through junior high and high school, but I would never date someone just for popularity purposes! I actually have to like the person a whole lot to invest time into a relationship, but it's always cute to be the cheerleader/whoever-the-big-guy is couple. I think deep down a lot of times girls wish for that, but it takes a lot more work than it looks like in a movie. Boys are tough! I do relate to Jamie since I was a cheerleader in high school. I had a great time doing all that kind of stuff. It's fun to be able to do it again in the movie.

J-14: Which cast members have you bonded with the most?
Tiffany: Mitchel Musso and Jason Dolley are a joy to work with. They're sweethearts and gentlemen. They're so much fun and really make it an enjoyable experience. Josie Lopez is a sweetheart. She's from Florida, and I'm from Texas, so we have that back home thing going on. I've known her for a while, and she's amazingly talented. The person I bonded with most is Madison Riley who plays Camie, Mitchel Musso's sister. She is seriously the most hilarious person.

J-14: What was it like filming in a real high school with kids everywhere?
Tiffany: At first nobody really knew who we were, so they were a little confused. Now they've caught on. One day when we were shooting, the girls went nuts over Jason and Mitchel. I walked out of the set and towards our chair rack -- where they have our names on the chairs -- and there were girls out there taking pictures of Jason's chair. They just wait out there and are like, "They're coming back from lunch soon!" They're big fans. I think that's adorable!

J-14: What was your favorite scene to film?
Tiffany: I have two. My first is when we get to do the stunt scene, where we're up in the air. I have dreams about stunting because I haven't done it in so long. To be able to do that now is so much fun because I get to live out my dream. It was scary because you're up there, and you have to wobble around and look like you're falling. There's another scene where we're in the science room and I'm sitting next to Jason's character, Pete, and Mitchel comes in the room. Everyone's talking about the chicken. Jason is sitting next to me, and Jamie needs Pete to move. So I pick up his books, put them in his lap, and push him out. Then Poole comes in and sits next to me, and I flirt with him. There's a part where I hit him on the end of his nose with my eraser on my pencil. I was just joking around and did it once, and our director was like, "I like that," and I was like, "Okay, I'll keep flirting with an eraser!" It was a cute scene because I push Pete out of the way completely and then clear the space for Poole.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another Hatching Pete cast member Q&A!

Hannah Montana's OMG Moment!

And on last night's episode of Hannah, while Miley's character was away, Lily and Oliver finally confessed their love for each other!

What did you think of last night's Hannah Montana? Do Lily and Oliver belong together? (Should we start calling them Loliver? ;) ).

J-14's Today on Twitter: The Stars are Watching 17 Again!

17AgainZacShowerWeb.jpg
J-14's following your favorite stars on Twitter and we're kicking off a new J-14.com feature to highlight what's going on in the Twitterverse today!

The most popular activity the stars were doing on this sunny Sunday (the weather was beautiful in both LA and NY!)? Watching Zac Efron's movie 17 Again. It's no wonder the movie is #1 at the box office, bringing in an estimated $24 million!

The Suite Life on Deck's Debby Ryan saw it and said it was "sooo funny!" Singer (and Jonas Brothers pal) Tiffany Giardina also saw the movie today and says "17 is my new lucky number :)." And perhaps in the biggest compliment of all, Wizards of Waverly Place star Selena Gomezsaw 17 Again today too -- and it wasn't her first time! "Seeing 17 Again. Again." she Tweeted from her Blackberry.

Other activities the stars were up to today? Some were hard at work: Jordin Sparks had choreography rehearsal, Miranda Cosgrove read to kids with Shia LaBeouf and Jesse McCartney, Taylor Swift kicked off her tour and was on the bus to Indiana, and Mitchel Musso was busy writing music.

Others spent the day relaxing: Joel Madden had an "awesome" brunch with Nicole Richie and baby Harlow, and Wizards of Waverly Place's Jennifer Stone hit up a flea market. And Miley Cyrus was busy traveling in Europe, and squeezed in some sight-seeing in Rome!

How did you guys spend your Sunday today?
