ScottMichaelFoster.jpg

Scott Michael Foster plays the always scheming Cappie on ABC Family's Greek, the Kappa Tau president known for his many majors and tons of hilarious plans -- plus he's quite the girl magnet! J-14 talked to Scott about the upcoming season of Greek will be like, his old co-star Jesse McCartney, and what he really thinks about his castmates! Look for even more of Scott when Season 3 of Greek premieres on Monday, August 31, on ABC Family!

J-14: What can we expect in Season 3 of Greek?
Scott Michael Foster:
Without giving too much away, we left off [season 2] with the end of the world party, and so it's the whole Cappie and Casey thing -- what's gonna happen there. Cappie was on top of the roof wondering what he should do. We literally pick up right where we left off, and it's the next day. There's things that you have to do to figure out what you want, and so that sort of starts off the whole season. It's definitely going to be a lot of fun, and we're touching on some new stuff. We're going to expand on Cappie being in a secret society and his relationship with Casey, so you'll see a lot more of that. You'll find out about Dale -- he has to struggle with his religion for awhile, like some college students do. That's actually a really cool story line.

J-14: Do you still keep in touch with Jesse McCartney, who guest-starred on Greek last season?
Scott:
We were hanging out shortly after he got done with his stint. I went to go see a couple of this shows, and we went and played pool with some other castmates. It was a lot of fun, but I know he's busy right now, so I haven't actually talked to him in awhile!

>J-14: What is your favorite behind-the-scenes memory from the show?
Scott:
There's so many, it's hard to just pick! It's like going to college without the schoolwork, so you can imagine what that's like. It's so funny to go back when they make little blooper reels of the season and behind the scenes stuff. Those scenes they show in the DVD, that's exactly what it's like. It's a lot of fun. I can't even think of one thing.

J-14: Have you gotten into Twitter?
Scott:
I have actually never been on Twitter. It's just like public IM site, right? I've heard it's the next big thing. There's like eight Scott Michael Foster Facebook pages, and I don't know how they do it, but a lot of people think so many of those sites are me. I'm like "Nope, that's not me!' Some are fans, and then some are actually impersonating me. It's weird to look on and see that other people are pretending to be you!

Let's play word association with your castmates. Jacob Zachar.
Scott:
Gangster.
J-14: Spencer Grammer.
Scott: Sweetheart.
J-14: Paul James.
Scott: Pranskter.
J-14: Jake McDorman.
Scott: It's not one word, but pool hustler who always beats me!
J-14: Amber Stevens.
Scott: Singing.
J-14: Clark Duke.
Scott: Comedian.
J-14: Dilshad Vadsaria.
Scott: Rebecca because that's her character's name. She's really not [like her character]. She's actually very smart, mature, and well put-together.

Q&A with Scott Michael Foster

cappie.jpg

J-14 chatted exclusively with Scott Michael Foster who plays Cappie on the ABC Family show Greek. Read on to get the scoop on the new episodes that start back on March 30 (including deets on a new pledge played by Jesse McCartney!).

J-14: Where do the new episode of Greek pick up?
Scott: We left off at the end of freshman year for Rusty, and we pick up the beginning of his sophomore year, and he's going to be a big brother to a pledge. It's the new school year for everyone. Cappie helps him deal with the fact that's he's gone from a pledge taking all the orders to being a responsible, older brother. You're also going to see things happen with Evan and Cappie -- they're going to have some things to talk about so that's exciting for us. Our characters didn't get to do much in the last season and half, so it's exciting for us to work together.

J-14: Is it safe to say Casey is what they're talking about?
Scott: There're a lot of things that they're going to talk about. I'll give you that. It's a cool, fun twist for the season.

J-14: How has Cappie changed now that he's going into his senior year?
Scott: He's confident and comfortable because he knows he's going to be there for a while. He's not going anywhere. He wants to study as much as possible. He'll try every major and he's going to try and stay in school as long as he can. He's like Van Wilder -- seriously, he has no intentions of leaving.

J-14: What is your favorite part about playing Cappie?
Scott: The character has a lot of parties -- and shooting parties is a lot of fun. I never have to deal with anything heavily dramatic unless it's a love situation. I'm always in good spirits, having fun. It's awesome to play a character that's happy.

J-14: Speaking of the love interests, is there anything we can look forward to with Cappie in these episodes?
Scott: Absolutely. I don't want to give anything away, but you're going to see him realize that he was with one girl for so long. Now he's going to try and get back in the game. He finds someone that he used to have a crush on when he was a freshman and she was a senior at Zeta Beta. He wants to go on a date with her and for some reason, he can't land it. You'll see him level through some different girl scenarios. And of course, he still loves Casey, but who knows what will happen.

J-14: What was it like have Jesse McCartney join the cast?
Scott: He is awesome. We hit it off really well. I went to go see his show at the House of Blues [in LA]. He really knows what he's doing, and it was a pleasure to have him on.
