J-14 Exclusive: Twilight's Edi Gathegi Surprises Fans in NYC

EdiGathegiByRachelChang.jpg

It may have been closer to midnight, but it felt like twilight Friday night as Twilight fans across the country counted down the final hours to the DVD release. J-14 joined in the excitement at the New York City Borders location at Madison Square Garden, where the Twilight Moms did a special live podcast, fans dressed in character (our fave were girls who dressed in the pajamas with feathers all over them... those of you who have read Breaking Dawn know what we mean!), and even an appearance by the hand model who holds the apple on the Twilight cover.

But the highlight for the fans was the special appearance by Twilight cast member Edi Gathegi who plays the French vampire, Laurent. J-14 chatted exclusively with him and he told us that he and costar Kellan Lutz had a blast in Las Vegas at their recent joint birthday party. "It was fantastic! I had a great time," he told us. "The highlight was the New Moon cake they got us with the New Moon logo on it!"

Do you own the Twilight DVD yet? How many times have you watched it? :)

And if you don't have the Twilight DVD 2-disc special edition yet, check out J-14's Twilight DVD Countdown Day 1-Comic-Con Featurette, Day 2-Deleted Scenes, Day 3-Music Videos, Day 4-Extended Scenes, and Day 5-The 7-Part Documentary

J-14's TWILIGHT DVD Countdown: 2 Days to Go! The Extended Scenes

TwilightDVD.jpg

Follow J-14.com's exclusive countdown to the Twilight DVD release on March 21... check back every day for more scoop on the exclusive DVD features!

Hey Guys! It's J-14 Intern Tierney here with the exclusive deets on all of the totally awesome special features on the Twilight DVD, out this Saturday! Are any of you guys hitting up a midnight release party? If not, you might want to consider it now that J-14 has confirmed exclusively that some of the cast members, including Rob, Kristen and Taylor, are going to be making surprise appearances at certain parties! OMG! How cool is that?!

Today is all about the extended scenes. The stuff that almost made the movie but got cut at the last minute. Let me tell you, these scenes are so amazing! There are five extended scenes. Each scene is introduced by director Catherine Hardwicke, who explains why the scene didn't make it into the movie. Here are my two favorite extended scenes:

My first favorite was an extension of the meadow scene, which was so beautiful and romantic. I'm the biggest Twilight fan, but I was a little disappointed with the meadow scene in the movie because it was my favorite part of the book! I was so excited to finally get to see more of my favorite couple ever, Bella and Edward, just being together in the beautiful meadow! It really made me wish Edward Cullen was real! Sigh.

Another scene I really liked was an extended version of Edward showing Bella his room for the first time. Did anyone else notice all the books next to his couch (no bed since he doesn't sleep!)? Well there are really about a hundred years worth of journals written by Edward! Unfortunately, we don't get to hear what's in them, but it was still really cool to hear about! I loved this scene because it shows how awkward and exciting it is to get to know your crush! We all go through that and it was awesome to see Bella and Edward do the same! Sometimes they really are just like us!

I didn't want to spoil all the extended scenes so I won't spill on the rest, but here are a few teases. One shows how Charlie feels about the Cullens in general and the other shows the bad vampires acting even more evil than we saw in the movie! It's weird that Cam Gigandet can be so scary yet so gorgeous at the same time!

Now, I want to hear from YOU! If you read the book, what do you wish the movie would have featured more?

Personally, I wish we got to see the lunchroom talks between Edward and Bella. They were so fun to read and we got to learn a lot about each character, like Edward's favorite animal to eat and Bella's favorite color, which of course was Topaz, the color of Edward's eyes! So cute!

Check out J-14.com tomorrow for the fifth and final day of exclusive deets about the 7-part documentary called The Adventure Begins. It shows the making of the movie and a lot of behind the scenes footage!

Tierney

J-14's TWILIGHT DVD Countdown: 3 Days to Go! The Music Videos

TwilightDVD.jpg

Follow J-14.com's exclusive countdown to the Twilight DVD release on March 21... check back every day for more scoop on the exclusive DVD features!

Hey J-14ers! It's intern Tierney here with your third day of exclusive scoop about the special features on the Twilight DVD! Today is all about the music videos!

One of my  favorite things about the movie was the soundtrack so it was really cool to see the music videos for some of the songs from the film. The three music videos featured on the DVD are Muse performing "Supermassive Black Hole" live, Linkin Park's "Leave Out All The Rest" and Paramore's "Decode!" I personally wish we there was a music video for Rob's song, "Never Think," but there's always New Moon!

My favorite out of the three videos was definitely Paramore's "Decode!" It featured clips from the movie, mostly of Bella and Edward. The video has the band peforming in the forest, similar to the one Bella and Edward walk through! I liked how the video was specifically made for Twilight and totally fits in with the movie. Plus, Haylie is such a cool chick and she really rocks out!  BTW, the hat she wears in some parts of the video totally looks like the one Bella wore when she was walking on the beach with Jacob!

Muse is my favorite band, so I really liked their music video for Supermassive Black Hole." The video is footage of them performing the song at one of their concerts and they sound amazing! Seriously, I don't think any song could have fit more perfectly with the vampire baseball scene than that one!

Now I want to hear from YOU, what's your favorite song on the Twilight Soundtrack?

My favorite song is Iron & Wine's "Flightless Bird, American Mouth," which was the song that played when Bella and Edward shared that amazing dance at the prom!

Make sure to check J-14.com tomorrow for exclusive deets on extended scenes from Twilight!

J-14's TWILIGHT DVD Countdown: 4 Days to Go! The Deleted Scenes

TwilightDVD.jpg

Follow J-14.com's exclusive countdown to the Twilight DVD release on March 21... check back every day for more scoop on the exclusive DVD features!

Hey J-14ers! It's the intern Tierney here with the second day of exclusive deets about the special features from the Twilight DVD, which is available this Saturday! Today is all about the deleted scenes! OMG! They are totally amazing and I wish a few of them would've made it into the movie!

There are five deleted scenes and almost all of them feature Rob, which is just fine by me! The more Rob, the better! I'll tell you guys all about my two favorite deleted scenes that left me craving for even more Twilight. I'm seriously thinking about starting a countdown for "New Moon"!Who's with me?!

My favorite deleted scene was called "Your number was up the first time I met you" and it was a totally adorable scene between Bella and Edward. It featured them on a walk through the woods and was seriously so cute! It showed the more playful side of Edward where he jokingly calls Bella "a fragile human" and he cutely bits down on Bella's finger when she sticks it in his mouth. This scene is a must see for all you people on team Edward! BTW, it was also Kristen Stewart's favorite scene in the movie!

My other favorite was a small but important scene between Carlisle and Esme as they are watching Edward climb up a tree with Bella on his back. The scene is called "She brought him to life", which Esme says Bella did for Edward. I loved Carlisle in the books and felt like he wasn't in the movie enough so I was so happy when I saw this deleted scene! It shows Edward's "parents" talking about Bella and Edward's relationship. I won't mention all the details but it actually features something pretty important about Alice's visions of the future. Plus, it was totally cute at the end of the scene when Carlisle calls Esme a "hopeless romantic".

Some of the other deleted scenes feature an amazing kiss between Bella and Edward, a kiss between two vampires (any guesses?) and more!

Watching these deleted scenes got me thinking about what my favorite scene from the actual movie was. I'd have to say when Bella and Edward are at the prom and slow dance outside. It was so cute how he held her up on his feet. I almost thought for a minute he was actually going to bite her but instead he sweetly kissed her neck. What a lucky girl! It was such a beautiful scene and didn't Rob look totally dreamy in that tux?

So I want to hear from YOU, what was your favorite scene in "Twilight"?

Make sure to check J-14.com tomorrow for exclusive deets on the music videos for three of the songs featured "Twilight"!
