Hey TWIST girls!
It's been the summer of music! All your fave stars have been performing all over the country, including Nat and Alex Wolff of the Naked Brothers Band!
TWIST chatted with the boys while they were on the road, and they're both super stoked to play one of their last shows in their hometown, NYC! If you're in the area, be sure to check out the show at 2:30 pm Saturday, August 29 at The Fillmore theater (Irving Plaza)!
TWIST: Hey guys! We bet you've had so much fun touring this summer! What's been one of your best memories?
Nat & Alex (both): So many great memories on the tour. Performing at huge fairs for thousands of screaming fans who know the lyrics to all our songs is the most exciting thing! But at one of the fairs, we got to see a calf being born. At another, the 4H girls let us go riding on their horses! And there are around 10 teenage girl fans who travel to almost all of our concerts. We call them the RYE GIRLS, based on the first three who came to all our gigs. They were from Rye, New York.
TWIST: What was the craziest thing you packed to take on the road?
Nat: Alex packed a bunch of his stuffed animals. They all have names and he brings them with him wherever he goes! The really craziest thing we brought on tour was our French Bulldog E.T. No one in the band or crew wanted us to bring a dog, but by the end of the first week everyone was trying to get her to sleep in their bunk with them. She's the best road dog ever. And she smells better than the musicians.
TWIST: What was one thing you missed most about being at home while on tour?
Both: We both missed having a real piano to play everyday.
TWIST: What's been your favorite stop on the tour?
Both: We loved a lot of stops on the tour. New Orleans is always one of our favorites. And Cleveland was awesome, and we got to go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And playing at the original Fillmore West in San Francisco was a dream come true. Actually, every venue and every city had something special about it.
TWIST: OK, now tell TWIST readers your #1 snack on tour?
Both: Tortilla chips and cheerios!
TWIST: Since you're playing live, any embarrassing moments happen on stage?
Alex: Nat knocked a microphone stand into his accoustic guitar, so when he picked up the accoustic to play Monday afternoon, it was out of tune! He had to stop and tune it up.
TWIST: Favorite song to perform?
Both: "Body I Occupy"
TWIST: You were both born and raised in NYC! So how do feel about playing at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza?
Both: Playing back home is so exciting, and a great way to end the tour! And to get to play at the Fillmore at Irving Plaza for the first time is thrilling. So many great bands have played there we're excited to be a part of it.
